Wordless Wednesday
A new rug for his room!

I Hate Summer Construction
Seriously, this is worst year for construction. I mean it is crazy bad. Chicago to Green Bay should only take us about 4 hours. This last weekend (and last weekend too for that matter) took us 6 hours! My kids can barely last the 4 hours, so needless to say it was not a fun ride. There is only so much you can do in a Prius with a 5 year old and a 2 year old. We did have our portable DVD player, but that only works for so long.
Besides the hellish drive, our trip was great. I got to see family both days and catch up. My only complaint is that it was hot and muggy. But that’s summer for you.
I’ve got a couple of pictures I’ll be uploading (when I find my camera) of the kids with their newest cousin Gabe! And for those who don’t know it’s my sister’s birthday today. Make sure you head over to Karebear Central to wish her a happy birthday!

Ahoy Mateys!
Yes, I really am okay.
I realize it’s Friday night, and with this title, you may think I had too much to drink. Instead, I am just tired and waiting to fill you in on my exciting trip that I took on Wednesday. I was invited to go on Lands End’s yacht for a little trip in Lake Michigan. It was definitely cool. I had never been on a yacht before (and that goodness for the gum I was chewing, because I know I would have been sick otherwise.) Kim from Hormone Colored Days and Dawn from Because I Said So were my mates aboard.

Needless to say, I really enjoyed myself. Now, the sunburn on feet not so much and the blisters on the bottom of my feet (which I got from walking 6 blocks in my dress sandals which I will never again!) not so much also. I had great company, and I learned a lot about Lands End!
