Thank you all!

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Its been a rough week or so at my house. Honestly, I think I would have preferred being at some vegas hotels than be here. I have to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. It does actually mean a lot to me.

I also have to give Elizabeth from Table4Five a shout out. She offered to drive to my house (which is around 5-6 hours from hers) and give me hand if my parents were unable to come. Now, how awesome is that? I am hoping to get some Will birthday pictures up tonight, but Bluehost in being a pain again and I’m having problems with my sites. As I am typing this, I am not sure if I will even be able to post this any time soon.

Yeah! My Tv Is Back!

Friday, April 4th, 2008

I have catching up on all my shows that have been TIVO’d all week long. I am so glad that the writers are back! I was getting bored watching reruns that I have seen a million times already. So far tonight, I have watched Criminal Minds, Numbers, and CSI (Las Vegas). It still floors me that on these shows that they can find a fingerprint on, say, a gold bangle and in less than an hour find the killer. I just realized that all three shows are of the same genre — cop shows. Each is very unique and I love to watch all three of them.  I am still waiting for new shows of House, Bones, and Deadliest Catch.

What shows are you anxiously awaiting?

A Shopping I Will Go

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Yes, I think almost every post this week is going to be about my trip. This is the first trip I am actually getting excited about. I dreaded the trip to Las Vegas for BlogWorld, and I loved it there. I dreaded the trip to Miami, and that wasn’t too bad either. I thank you guys who told me not to feel guilty, because we are leaving the kids. I think I needed somebody to give me permission to be okay with leaving them. I feel semi-dorky though – I have been watching the virtual tour of my hotel today. I am just trying to get a feel for what to expect. It is all of seventeen degrees here and warm would be nice.

I have been checking out the weather report today, and I am still deciding if I need to find my shorts for not. Depending where you look, I am looking at lows in the 30’s and highs all the way up to 65 degrees. My big problem is that I am not sure if I will fit into any of my shorts (and where they are too). I think I will be going shopping this weekI already know where my swim suit is, so I am set with that. It is just figuring out if I need shorts that is the problem.

We are definitely packing jeans, sweatshirts, and our jackets. Who knows? I may actually start a list, so we don’t forget anything. However, anything we do forget, we can buy there.

Vegas

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

My parents just got back from a week’s vacation in Las Vegas yesterday afternoon. While calling me to tell me there were home, they happened to see that the Monte Carlo was on fire there. It was kinda one of the those weird things. They had a great vacation and came home a little ahead (woo hoo). My mom said her biggest win was $250 on a nickel slot machine. I was hoping they would win a big jackpot and share with her kids. lol I wonder though — if you had Las Vegas hotel reservations at the Monte Carlo on one of those top floors that are now burnt out, what do you do? Does the hotel find you another place to stay?

Blogworld Day 2 – Evening

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

After the Mark Cuban speech, I went back to my hotel and dropped all of my stuff off (basically, I had another entire bag of free swag). A bunch of bloggers were planning to meet at the Bellagio, so I had a little bit of time to catch the monorail and head over there. We met for the picture (which I need somebody to send me a copy of) and did a bit of gambling as you can see:

No matter what machine Colleen went on, she won. That girl is lucky. While we were out, I kept thinking that I had a rock in my shoe. Finally, I took my shoe off to see what was going on, and I realized that I had a blister. I wore a pair of shoes that I have owned for over ten years out there. I am thinking that was not a good idea. I should have invested in some Geox shoes or some Josef Seibel shoes instead. Those probably wouldn’t have given me blisters. We moved from the Bellagio to (I think) Paris. I think from there we went to the Imperial Palace (and we walked it). It didn’t really matter where I gambled — I didn’t win anything. I called it an early night from the Imperial Palace, since my feet were killing me, PostieCon was the next day, and I swear that they had their heat turned on. It was so hot in the casino there. (I think my early night got me back to my hotel at midnight — maybe a little before).
