The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington DC

What kid doesn't like the 12 days of Christmas? I know my kids do which is why reading The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington DC was such a treat. This is actually a series of books that takes place all over the country. New for this year, they have added Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina, and Washington DC. Each book not only sings the song for you (well has the words written for you with its own twist of them), they also include a bunch of kid friendly facts that are both unusual and entertaining. For example, in The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington DC, on the tenth day, my cousin gave me 10 agents spying. This page is all about the Spy (aff) Museum and tells me a ton of interesting facts about the museum (in a letter to mom & dad). My sister has actually been there and can vouch for the details that they tell you about it. It makes me want to check it out! I'll be honest though, I couldn't help singing the words — “10 agents spying, 9 airplanes flying, 8 wacky statues . . . . ” Join with me!

Okay, back to the book — The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington DC is a great book whether you've been there or not. It actually has given me a ton of great ideas when we do take our kids to Washington DC. In the meantime, they get to enjoy The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington DC.

What a clever idea for kids. It's great that it is "customized" for them by where they live. Quite nice.
