My family and I went to see Zootopia on Saturday morning, and I can't wait to tell you all about it. First though, I have to tell you about Dolby Cinemas at AMC Prime. I don't know how I'll ever be able to watch movies at other theaters. The sound at a Dolby Cinemas at AMC Prime is amazing. The seats actually vibrate with the sound, so you feel like you are right in the action. We have made a list of all the other movies we now need to see at a Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime theater. The theater experience alone was pretty amazing.
Here is a list of Dolby Cinemas at AMC Prime, so you too can enjoy this movie (and many others):
Arizona —AMC Desert Ridge 18
Georgia —AMC North Point Mall 12
Illinois —AMC Hawthorn 12
Misouri —AMC BarryWoods 24
New Jersey —AMC Garden State 16
Northern California —AMC NewPark 12
Southern California —AMC Burbank 16andAMC Century City 15
Texas —AMC Deerbrook 24andAMC Willowbrook 24
Zootopia is comprised of neighborhoods that celebrate different cultures. Sahara Square is for the desert animals, Tundratown is for the polar bears and moose. Then there is the hot and humid Rain Forest District, Little Rodentia for the tiniest mammals, and Bunnyburrow for the millions and millions of bunnies. The downtown area, Savanna Central, is a melting pot where a wide array of mammals from every environment come together. It will remind you of the melting pot of most of big cities.
Zootopia is a place where no matter what you are you can be anything. That is something that Judy Hopps believes since she was a little bunny. When she grows up to become her lifelong dream (a police officer), she jumps (pun intended!) at the opportunity to crack a case. It is also a town where predators and prey live as neighbors. The movie is about the case Judy has to solve with Nick, a hustler fox.
I don't want to give you any spoilers, but this movie has to do with so much that is happening in our country right now. It is about how these predators/prey have tension (or in our world that would be racial/religious tension) and that fear can make good people do and say hurtful things. Does that sound like what's going on in this country right now? That the fear of the “other” is making people do crazy things. It is something I picked up on right away; yet, my kids just saw a really great movie, because Disney does this so well. This is just one of many woven plots into this amazing storyline. This is a detective movie. This is a movie about not judging a book by its cover. This is a movie about how, really, we are all the same. We want the same things.
Should you take your kids? Yes, Yes, Yes! There is something in the story for everyone. It's done so well that I forgot who the actors doing the voices are and just bought into the story. There are a few scary parts (I even jumped!). For the most part though, it is a really great story for kids of all ages. Also, there are some Easter eggs through out. I saw at least 4 Frozen references and a Godfather and Breaking Bad one!
I can only tell you to go see Zootopia. We loved it. It is a great and entertaining movie for your entire family which is why I've included a Zootopia Sloth Cocoa recipe that you can enjoy while you watch!

I guess I’m the only person in the world who didn’t like Zootopia. It is not for kids and the plot is ordinary, nothing stunning, I even didn’t even finish watching it. But I’m glad you like it, what I liked was a scene where the Rabbit with the Fox were in the office, it was fun )))
Cute way to post a review! Thanks for sharing with the Thursday Blog Hop!
Looking forward to seeing this movie over spring break with my kiddos! The sloth cocoa looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing!
Yum! That drink looks tasty. We saw Zootopia opening day in our theater and my boys just loved it. It was so cute.
