My husband is always a struggle to buy for. With holidays like Father's Day right around the corner, I am always trying to come up with new and great things to surprise him with. He makes it difficult every year, because if he wants something, he usually buys it. Here's a list of a few things I like to use:

  1. Sporting events. Does your man have a favorite team? See if you can score tickets to a game and surprise him with it!
  2. Books. Is there a series on TV your husband loves? Buy him the corresponding books. Did you know The Walking Dead (graphic novel) and Game of Thrones are actually books?
  3. Crafts. This is always a great go-to gift. Search Pinterest and there are always homemade gifts that you and the kids can make together. I lucked out on this one this year, because the kids make crafts at school and brought them home (aff) to give to him. You can also make a craft to go with a gift. See #5 on this list after you look at our homemade Superman cape.

  5. Gift certificates for favorite activities. Golf is my husband's hobby. I buy him a gift certificate for his favorite course, and that always seems to make him happy! If your husband has another hobby, buy him a gift certificate for that, so he can participate in it.

5. If your husband is a Superman fan, buy your Man of Steel tickets! My husband loves movies, so this is a perfect gift in my house! Plus, my kids are now on summer break and keep begging for a movie night. I know I'm not the only one in that boat! I also love how easy it is to get my hands on this while I'm doing my regular shopping! Now watch this trailer and tell me you don't want to see this! I know I do!

  1. My husband isn’t interested in traditional guy stuff, so shopping for him is challenging–no sports, no golfing, no ‘guy’ shows besides Top Gear. I’m going to make him an Ale Cake–basically I’m going to buy a ton of craft ales and arrange them like a cake, and yell “surprise.”

I should totally get my husband tickets to see this! We were just at Target tonight and he was checking out the Superman toys pretending that they were for my daughters, lol.
