It is very hard to believe, but Bill and I will have been together 20 years this year! As you can see, we were just babies when we met. We always like to laugh and tell people we met at a church event. Instead, we met in college. The college Bill went to had a girl-to-boy ratio of 8 guys to one girl. Great for me and my friends, not so much for the guys who went to school there. Now, the college I attended had about the opposite ratio. For those of you who don't know, Bill and my college's were 2 hours apart! However, going to Bill's college with a car full of girls every weekend was great! Bill was the “friend”. He was the guy who watches out for you. The weekend we hooked up, I actually hooked up with another guy from his frat. Now, Bill was given strict instructions to NOT let any of us girls hook up with jerks. Well, the guy and I set up a date the following night, and he never showed up. Instead, Bill and I stayed up all night watching cartoons and talking. I still remember thinking why didn't I date him! Needless to say, the rest is history.

This year, we will also be married for 15 years. It's hard to believe been together that long! Young love can prevail! We've proven that which is why I was excited to write about Nicholas Sparks new movie The Choice. This movie is about making difficult choices of the heart to find your destiny and perfect match. Like many other Nicholas Sparks stories, the setting is coastal Carolina, and North Carolina plays a big part in the story
The main characters are first brought together due to an encounter between their dogs! Their adorable pets play an important (and adorable) role in the story.

As you can see our family has grown a bit from those days 20 years ago. What is your love story? How did you meet your significant other?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
