10 Laundry Tips To Make Your Life Easier

laundry tips

I’m on vacation right now (shh, everyone is sleeping, and I’m secretly writing this post—that doesn’t count as working on vacation, right?). I may have cheated and just bought everyone new socks and underwear to avoid doing laundry, but you don’t have to be like me. Instead, be better than me and use these helpful laundry tips to make your life easier!

laundry tips
  1. Use method (especially the NEW 4x concentrated) laundry detergent, which is naturally derived cleaning power and tough on dirt and stains. It keeps colors bright and whites white and works great in cold water, so you use less energy for every load! The formula is both biodegradable and hypoallergenic and can also be used as a really effective pre-treat for stains. (I have an awesome coupon for you if you can try this tip! Use the code THREEFORME for $3 off your online purchase!)
  2. Don’t use dryer sheets and your towels will last longer and be more absorbent!  (Plus, you do help save the environment too)
  3. Remember to sort your colors and your whites.  Otherwise, your whites will turn a dingy grey.
  4. Accidentally shrunk something?  Put the clothing in lukewarm water and baby shampoo.  You need to make sure you cover the entire piece of fabric and gently stretch.
  5. Have you ever tried drying your sneakers in the dryer? It’s so loud!  Make sure you place the ends of your laces outside the dryer when you close the door (up top).  No more banging, and you have dry shoes!
  6. Like to air dry but you need your shirt right now?  Go into your kitchen and use a salad spinner.
  7. Want your dark jeans to not fade?  Wash them inside out!
  8. Just buy ASOS clothes.  With easy-to-clean pieces, the collection is all about uniting functional fashion with gentle clothing care for long-lasting wear!  No need to worry about dry cleaning these amazing clothes!
  9. Forget to take your clothes out of the dryer, and they are all wrinkled now?  Throw in a wet washcloth and redry the load.  All the wrinkles will be gone!
  10. If you have somebody helping with laundry (in my house, that would be my hubby), you can use a dry erase marker and note on the top of the dryer which clothes shouldn’t go in the dryer.  No more excuses for why your favorite sweater is in there!

Here’s a good conclusion paragraph for your post:

With these simple laundry tips, you’ll be able to save time, reduce stress, and keep your clothes in great shape. Whether tackling tough stains or trying to streamline your routine, these hacks make laundry day less chore. So next time you face dirty clothes, remember these laundry tips and make your life a little easier!

  1. I love this post. I had to bookmark. I have shrunken my husband’s clothes many times and he gets quite mad! Never knew you could unshrink it.

Are dryer balls ok? I don’t know if I can do without dryer sheets because I don’t like my clothes sticking together.

  2. Not sure I have any hacks but I finally got the whole separating the darks from lights routine down! lol But in all seriousness this looks like a great product, I have a problem with my colors fading due to needing to wash the clothes so often cause of the kids, I would love from them to last a little longer than they are lasting now lol.

  3. As a SAHM I do 3 loads of laundry per day, 6 days a week. I have never tried Method detergent because I have laundry stockpile that has never depleted. I will admit the natural cleaner has caught my eye once or twice. Maybe I’ll give it a try when I see it on sale.

  4. These are some very helpful laundry hacks, going to have to print these and put it up in the laundry room. Some i didn’t even know about.

  5. Number 7 tip is great! For sure, many jeans lovers will find it very useful. Maybe you can create an infographic about this too.

  7. These are awesome tips you’ve put together. #4 is my favorite hack; I didn’t know shrunken clothes still had some hope in them. I will share the lukewarm water + baby shampoo trick at home.

  9. These are absolutely great tips. I’ve accidentally shrunk a lot of clothes already and I surely didn’t know that there is a remedy to it. Thank you! 🙂

  10. I have not heard of Method laundry soap before but it sounds like something I will be trying for sure. These are totally amazing tips for the laundry. The one I know I have to try is the shoe drying one. I can’t stand the banging. Thanks so much for sharing.

  11. The shrunken clothes trick is new to me – I’ve got a bunch of shirts I’m trying that on. I also should sort better, a couple of years in the Army wearing all green and brown has me in the habit of just piling it all in together.

  12. I’ve been washing my ‘good jeans’ inside out for the longest time – before I knew that…I would get streaks in the front of dark colored jeans. I received a coupon card with scratch and sniff swabs for Method products – and a few of them smell really, really, really good!
