Time to keep cool here in Chicagoland. One of the best ways to do that is to head to your local water parks and enjoy some time in the water! That’s why I came up with this great list of why you should be heading to Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville, IL this summer!
To Cool Off
Summer has finally arrived in Chicagoland, and it feels like we waited forever for it! After a slow start to the warm weather, July is delivering the heat we’ve been craving. Now that the temperatures have climbed, there’s no better time to find a way to cool off!
It’s Close!
Raging Waves Waterpark is about an hour from Chicago. That’s it!
Lifeguards
Safety is a top priority at Raging Waves. Lifeguards are stationed everywhere throughout the park, staying actively engaged, reminding kids not to run, and stepping in without hesitation when someone needs help in the water. These aren’t just summer hires either; every lifeguard must complete rigorous training and maintain their required hours to stay on staff. Of course, you still know your own swimming ability, and keeping an eye on your kids is always on you, but it’s reassuring to know that a trained set of eyes is always nearby, no matter where you are in the park.
The Water
The water is the same ph as your eyes. Â What does that mean? Â Your eyes aren’t going to sting, and you won’t have the dreaded “red-eye”. Â
There’s something for everyone.
They have 45 acres.  What does that mean?  There is something for everyone to do here.  Koala Cave for the younger crew, Kangaroo Falls for the older ones, and all the slides for the teens, tweens, and adults.  They also have a Lazy River and Wave Pool and a huge area where the kids can play in the sand!
Prices
Being from Chicago, I’m used to being price gouged. Â I found the prices here pretty reasonable for food and souvenirs.
New and Improved
Raging Waves isn’t content to stay the same year after year. The park is always evolving, with new attractions and improvements popping up each season. It’s clear that the team behind it is genuinely committed to making every visit better than the last and returning guests will always have something fresh to look forward to.
Food Allergies
If food allergies are a concern, Raging Waves has you covered. Give them a call a day ahead of your visit, and the staff will work with you to accommodate your dietary needs. As someone who personally deals with food allergies, it means a lot to find a place that takes this seriously and goes out of its way to make sure everyone can eat safely and enjoy their day.
Events
Raging Waves knows how to make a visit extra memorable with special events throughout the season. We’ve experienced some fun ones firsthand, from a Taylor Swift ticket giveaway to a Radio Disney takeover. It’s the kind of bonus entertainment that makes a great day at the waterpark feel even more exciting.
Clean
Cleanliness is something Raging Waves clearly takes seriously. The water is pristine, the sidewalks are well-maintained, and the grounds are consistently tidy throughout the park. You can regularly spot employees making their rounds to keep everything in top shape, and that extra effort doesn’t go unappreciated. It’s one of those details that quietly make the whole experience more enjoyable.
I can only tell you how awesome Raging Waves Waterpark is. Â Now, you have to go check it out for yourself! Â We’ll be camping out in Yorkville this weekend, so I hope to see you at Raving Waves on Saturday! Â
I love a good water park and Thai one looks like so much fun. I’ll have to get to Chicago one of these summers to enjoy it.
This sounds and looks like a great place to go this summer. I have yet to go to a water park and this sounds like an amazing one. The Lazy River and Wave Pool would be for me I think. I don’t like the slides too much. lol Thanks for sharing.
I love a good water park. I would most definately check it out if we lived in that area.
I would love to go to there! Summer is almost over and we haven’t even been swimming yet. Great post, thanks for sharing.
What a fun looking water park. We dont generally go since we are surrounded by water and everyone we know has cabins. But once in a while it makes for something fun and different.
I had no idea that Chicago had a big water park. Growing up in Indianapolis, we’d go to Holiday World for some water park fun.
We have something similar to this in Florida. I would love to make some time and GO and enjoy it!
This sounds like a ton of fun. I.want to take my kids to the water park. I hope we can before the end of summer. 🙂
Water parks are so much fun. I think my sweetie and I would just plant ourselves in the Great Barrier Reef for most of the time.
I love places like this. Next time I’m in Chicago I will for sure check this out with the kids.
Omg that water park looks like so much fun!!! My daughter is water obsessed and so am I… We would have so much fun here!
I can’t wait until my kids are old enough so I can take them to a water park like this one!
We have a similar park here in Knoxville and the kids love it. We are actually going in a few weeks.
I love that everything’s clean. When it’s not, it is a big bummer that ruins the day.
This looks like the perfect activity for our 90+ we have here in DC. I’m far from Chicago but this place looks like a good time.
There is 1 reason I need to go; It’s hot outside!
I’d love to be there right now.
They gave away Taylor Swift tickets here?? This looks like an extremely fun place I would hope to take my nephew here one day!
Raving Waves sounds like an amazing water park and it’s great that they ensure the water is clean so you don’t go home with any infections. I’ll have to check it out if I am near Chicago.
Water parks are a good place to take the family. I would want to thank you for your review of the place Raving Waves. It does seem like a nice place to have some fun this summer!
What a fun place to visit. I’m looking for a place to go for our last hurrah for summer. I think this is perfect.
This looks to be such a fun place to enjoy! What better way to spend quality family time together!
I need a clean water park. We joined w/ Legoland membership but they have blackout dates on July and August
This sounds like the perfect summer destination. Spending a day cooling off and relaxing in the water would be great.
Oh my goodness – this looks like a totally amazing place to go! I love water parks and would love to visit Raving Waves!
That looks so fun! We went to a water park earlier this month. They are so refreshing! I like how clean it is!
I really like the part about no more red eyes because of the same PH level as our eyes have. And giving away concert tickets is awesome, too. Sounds like a great place to spend a hot summer day.
Wave pool can be so much fun. We recently went to Sandcastle and the kids had a blast. This looks like a great place as well.
Wow, well it looks and sounds pretty awesome. I wish I was closer so I could take my kiddos. I’m pretty sure this would be a dream for them!
There’s nothing better than a day at the water park. Those slides are so much fun!
That looks like a great water park. My family can spend all day at a water park just going down the slides.
