Time to keep cool here in Chicagoland. One of the best ways to do that is to head to your local water parks and enjoy some time in the water! That's why I came up with this great list of why you should be heading to Raving Waves in Yorkville, IL this summer!
- It is finally summer in Chicagoland. It is hard to believe it has taken till July to finally get warm here! Since it is finally warm, we need to cool off!
- Raging Waves is about an hour from Chicago. (I live on the southside, so I can tell you it won't take you much longer than an hour to get here). It can take me an hour to get across town sometimes, so an hour here is well worth it!
- Lots of lifeguards. You know your ability to swim. You watch your kids. That being said, stuff still can happen. Everywhere you look, there is a lifeguard. I've watched them reminding the kids to not run. I've watched them have to jump in and save/help people. They have to go through training and keep up their hours or they can't lifeguard here. Here's a sneak peak into their training:
- The water is the same ph as your eyes. What does that mean? Your eyes aren't going to sting and you won't have the dreaded “red-eye”.
- They have 45 acres. What does that mean? There is something for everyone to do here. Koala Cave for the younger crew, Kangaroo Falls for the older ones, and all the slides for the teens, tweens, and adults. They also have a Lazy River and Wave Pool and a huge area where the kids can play in the sand!
- Prices. Being from Chicago, I'm use to being price gouged. I found the prices here pretty reasonable for food and souvenirs.
- They are constantly adding things. From year to year, I see new things at the park. They are constantly trying to improve and make things even more fun!
- They are willing to work with food allergies. If they know you are coming (call a day ahead!), they will work with any food allergies you may have. As somebody with food allergies myself, I appreciate this.
- They always have great events going on. We've been there when they gave away Taylor Swift tickets and when Radio Disney has been there.
- It is clean, clean, clean. The water is clean. The sidewalks are clean. Everything is clean. I see employees walking around all the time to make sure that it is clean, and that doesn't go unnoticed.
I can only tell you how awesome Raging Waves is. Now, you have to go check it out for yourself! We'll be camping out in Yorkville this weekend, so I hope to see you at Raving Waves on Saturday!
Why would you want to come check out Raving Waves?
That looks like a great water park. My family can spend all day at a water park just going down the slides.
There’s nothing better than a day at the water park. Those slides are so much fun!
Wow, well it looks and sounds pretty awesome. I wish I was closer so I could take my kiddos. I’m pretty sure this would be a dream for them!
Wave pool can be so much fun. We recently went to Sandcastle and the kids had a blast. This looks like a great place as well.
I really like the part about no more red eyes because of the same PH level as our eyes have. And giving away concert tickets is awesome, too. Sounds like a great place to spend a hot summer day.
That looks so fun! We went to a water park earlier this month. They are so refreshing! I like how clean it is!
Oh my goodness – this looks like a totally amazing place to go! I love water parks and would love to visit Raving Waves!
This sounds like the perfect summer destination. Spending a day cooling off and relaxing in the water would be great.
I need a clean water park. We joined w/ Legoland membership but they have blackout dates on July and August
This looks to be such a fun place to enjoy! What better way to spend quality family time together!
What a fun place to visit. I’m looking for a place to go for our last hurrah for summer. I think this is perfect.
Water parks are a good place to take the family. I would want to thank you for your review of the place Raving Waves. It does seem like a nice place to have some fun this summer!
Raving Waves sounds like an amazing water park and it’s great that they ensure the water is clean so you don’t go home with any infections. I’ll have to check it out if I am near Chicago.
They gave away Taylor Swift tickets here?? This looks like an extremely fun place I would hope to take my nephew here one day!
There is 1 reason I need to go; It’s hot outside!
I’d love to be there right now.
This looks like the perfect activity for our 90+ we have here in DC. I’m far from Chicago but this place looks like a good time.
I love that everything’s clean. When it’s not, it is a big bummer that ruins the day.
We have a similar park here in Knoxville and the kids love it. We are actually going in a few weeks.
I can’t wait until my kids are old enough so I can take them to a water park like this one!
Omg that water park looks like so much fun!!! My daughter is water obsessed and so am I… We would have so much fun here!
I love places like this. Next time I’m in Chicago I will for sure check this out with the kids.
Water parks are so much fun. I think my sweetie and I would just plant ourselves in the Great Barrier Reef for most of the time.
This sounds like a ton of fun. I.want to take my kids to the water park. I hope we can before the end of summer. 🙂
We have something similar to this in Florida. I would love to make some time and GO and enjoy it!
I had no idea that Chicago had a big water park. Growing up in Indianapolis, we’d go to Holiday World for some water park fun.
What a fun looking water park. We dont generally go since we are surrounded by water and everyone we know has cabins. But once in a while it makes for something fun and different.
I would love to go to there! Summer is almost over and we haven’t even been swimming yet. Great post, thanks for sharing.
I love a good water park. I would most definately check it out if we lived in that area.
This sounds and looks like a great place to go this summer. I have yet to go to a water park and this sounds like an amazing one. The Lazy River and Wave Pool would be for me I think. I don’t like the slides too much. lol Thanks for sharing.
I love a good water park and Thai one looks like so much fun. I’ll have to get to Chicago one of these summers to enjoy it.
