10 Reasons You Must Watch Jessica Jones #streamteam

I was going to write about what you should be watching today on Thanksgiving. Instead, I'm going to tell you to binge watch Jessica Jones, because it is my new favorite guilty pleasure. Jessica Jones is Netflix's newest series, and it is absolutely amazing. They have done an awesome job with this unlikely superhero. Here are a few reasons you should be watching if you aren't yet:

  1. You don't have to be a comic book fan to follow this series. The episodes are constantly giving you her backstory, so you don't have to know who Jessica Jones is. You can easily learn what makes her tick just by watching.
  2. There are cameos from other superheroes if you watch for them.
  3. Even though she has powers, she is human. She doesn't look or act like a superhero. She is much easier to relate too. How many superheroes do you know wake up with a hangover almost every morning?
  4. As flawed as she is, all she really wants to do is make a difference. She is a good person at heart.
  5. The casting is amazing. I've read some complaints about this very thing, but I think it is absolutely perfect.
  6. It actually deals with PTSD. Many of the characters are going through PTSD, and it really gives a good glimpse of what it is like. It also doesn't sugarcoat it. Nobody is fixed by the next episode.
  7. Sex. Lots of it. 🙂
  8. Jessica Jones does not wear her comic book “costume”. I like her saving the world in her regular street clothes.
  9. If you are a comic book fan, the series starts right from the comic book. (That being said, it doesn't really stick to the comics (aff).)
  10. Stan Lee cameo. Did you see it?

Jessica Jones is worth binge watching this holiday weekend. What do you think? What will you be streaming this weekend?
