2015-02-04 12.25.41Did you know that February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day? I love that in the middle of winter (especially here in Chicago since we keep getting more and more snow) that we can warm each others hearts. The best part of doing Random Acts Of Kindness is that you are making another person’s day. I know that I love reading on Facebook about how others have helped my friends. The things you do don’t have to be overly elaborate either.

If you are a not sure what you can do on this day, I have made a list for you that you can check out on the Tampico website!

How will you be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day?  What will you be doing?

  1. I try to do a RAK every day if I can. This weekend I paid for the guy behind me in line at ChickFilA. I think that is my favorite one. 🙂

  2. If we all performed random acts of kindness throughout the day, not just one day a year, the world would be a nicer place. Having a special day for it is sure to bring awareness though!

  3. I once received a free cup of coffee from the generosity of a stranger in the drive thru. It absolutely made my day. I remember that feeling & try to pay it forward.

  4. I love the sentiment behind Random Acts of Kindness Day! I try to be thoughtul and considerate of others everyday…even in little ways…like paying for the person’s coffee in line behind me!

  5. I like to think that every day is the perfect day for a random act of kindness. It can be helping someone with their grocery bags, surprising a neighbor with fresh bakes cookies or stopping by a convalescent home to visit someone in need.. even greeting someone with a smile and wishing them a fabulous day! You’d be surprised how often I see someone’s face light up just because I took the time to acknowledge them 🙂

  6. This post is full of great ideas! I love all of them. Our school did a “Great Kindness Challenge” the week of February 17 and it was incredible! 🙂

  7. I Think I’m the only person to ever NOT have a drive thru acts of kindness thing happen…. Which is surprising with the amount of travel I use to do lol

  8. No – I did not know that February 17th was Random Acts of Kindness Day – but loved that you told me now! And, I need to have it on my calendar to do something extra special for special people! (everyone, of course!)

  9. I did not know there was a day to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness. I think it is important to do things to make others happy. Being kind is an important lesson to teach our kids.

  10. I had no idea there was a random acts of kindness day! This is something I try to do every day but I’ll have to make sure to do something extra special on the “holiday” next year.

  11. I had no idea it was random acts of kindness day. It must have been overshadowed by Valentines day. I once gave money to cover the groceries of the lady behind me at the grocery store. I’m all for that and any kind of charity work or things I can teach my kids about random acts of kindness.

  12. I had no clue it was Random Acts of Kindness Day until AFTER someone paid for my coffee in the drive-thru at Starbucks! After I figured it out I realized how much of a jerk I must have looked like because I didn’t pay for the coffee for the person behind me ;-(

  13. Getting an unexpected gift from a RAOK would be great! It is the little things that make the world a brighter place.

  14. Oh wow, totally missed this event. Didn’t even know such a day existed. Love the idea behind it though– the world needs more kindness 🙂

  15. Bummer! Looks like I missed out, too. I would have loved to share the fun with my kids. It would be fun to take something nice into their class and encourage their classmates to pay it forward to others at the school and beyond!

  16. I have a friend that does a RAK day each week with her children. It’s so cool the stuff they decide to do. I love watching the smiles on the kids faces when they know they are doing good!

  17. I know that I have always taught my kids to help others whenever we are able to. It doesn’t have to be anything huge either. Sometimes just holding a door open, smiling at someone, or asking how their day is is enough to put a smile on someone else’s face. I have a list of things that children can do to help others and pay it forward. Thank you for sharing.

  18. On a side note..sometimes, a glass of Tampico over ice really hits the spot in the summertime. If I had known about Random Acts of Kindness Day, I probably would have went out of my way to hold the door open for a stranger.

  19. I try to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day every day. One of my favorite things to do is to buy Pop Rocks (candy) and randomly mail a packet to someone with whom I haven’t spoken in a long time. No note, no explanation … just a packet of Pop Rocks. It always seems to brighten their day.
