Sending Out Christmas Cards? Here's What You Need To Know

‘Tis the season to spread joy (aff) and warmth through heartfelt messages! As we gather around the festive glow of twinkling lights and the aroma of holiday treats, exchanging Christmas cards becomes a cherished way to connect with loved ones. Crafting the perfect Christmas card is an art that goes beyond pen and paper, encapsulating the spirit of the season in every word. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time card sender, join us in unwrapping the secrets to creating memorable and meaningful Christmas cards that will leave a lasting impression on your friends and family. From heartfelt messages to creative touches, discover the essential elements to include on your Christmas cards and make this year's greetings special.

  1. If you have kids, include a picture. Most of us don't see your kids and I love watching them grow up.
  2. Include your last name somewhere on the card. I know several Joes, Bills, and Anthony. This is especially true if you don't include a picture!
  3. Make sure your return address is on the envelope! This is especially true if you have moved!
  4. Avoid digital cards. Most of those end up in the spam bin. I regularly check mine but most people don't.
  5. Pick a card that is you. You can send a generic card, but I like a card that screams our family.
  6. Make sure there is enough postage on your card. I know there are weird size cards out there, but you don't want your recipients so have to pay postage!
  7. Make sure you pick a good company to order from. You can tell the difference in the cards. (I know, I can!)

What do you include on your Christmas cards? Any other tips you would include?

Great tips for Christmas cards. We do not get too personal with ours anymore. We just buy some nice ones from the dollar store and mail them out, but I do love the personalized ones.

Great tips, I am scrambling to get a family photo of us this week. It may not make the Christmas card, but we will try.

Nice tips! I don’t send out cards anymore because coming from a clan of 7 children our family is so big it’s impossible for me to send to all.

  15. These are great tips! Sad to say I had sent out fewer cards this year, most of it were e-cards. I still love and I miss the traditional cards though!
