Lets be honest here – I hate cleaning and getting ready for birthday parties. They are so much work. Due to the size of our families, a birthday party that just includes the immediate family (grandpa, grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins for the kids) we are looking at close 20 people! There are no small parties here. Will turned 9 on June 7th (I know, it is hard to believe that he's that old!), and we held his birthday party a little early due to our vacation. That being said I have a few tips I have learned along the way to help you along the way to celebrating a great day without you being all stressed out:

  1. Make a list. Check it twice. Make a list of everything you need to do from laundry to making pasta salad. That way you know what you have to do for the week and you won't forget anything. IMG_2936
  2. Now, that you have your list, don't wait to the last minute to do everything! For example, use your Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean your bathroom a few days before. You may have to a small quick wipe down the day of the party, but you aren't doing a full out clean (that takes so much longer)!IMG_2935
  3. Make sure you head to Costco to get all your party needs. We pretty much were able to buy everything we needed for Will's birthday party at Costco and in bulk! We got our food, our cleaning supplies, and even toilet paper (which you need tons of for a party!) Best of all, all of the P&G Household Needs products were available at our local Costco!IMG_2891
  4. Don't reinvent the wheel. Use products you know and trust both at the party and getting ready for a party. Every product in the cart you see above I use on an every day basis. I know how great the products work, and there are no surprises. It’s the little details in P&G Household Needs products that make them different from other brands.
  5. Remember to have fun and eat your cake (or cupcakes) too!2016-05-29 18.03.39

It's hard to believe that my baby is turning 9 this year. How do you get ready for a party? What P&G Household Needs products do you use on a regular basis and when you are getting ready for a party?

These are great tips! Whenever I’m hosting a get together, I always make sure to make a list of everything I did to get done before the party begins so I can make sure I don’t forget anything.

My family is large, so our parties are always huge, too. I don’t know how I ever lived without Mr. Clean magic erasers. I use them all the time, especially when I’m cleaning up after a big, messy party.

  3. Jeanette

I usually do a fast clean about 15 minutes before people get there LOL. I should probably clean a couple days in advance like you do you’re smart.

I love the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. We used to use it to clean our classrooms at the end of the year. It would definitely make quick work of any messes before a party.

I’m at a point now where we all meet in restaurants because I don’t have time to clean the house “guest ready”. I like all your tips though – but I think I might just hire a cleaning gal!

  14. These are awesome tips. I usually deep clean a few days in advance and keep up with the messes my toddlers make, so that the night before I just have to worry about getting the food and party decor ready.
