8 Reasons To Go To Mathnasium

Over the last month or so, my kids have been attending Mathnasium. Never heard of them? Well, Mathnasium is a learning center for just math. They are unique and one of the best centers out there to help your kids with math. There are so many reasons Mathnasium should be on your radar, and why you should look at sending your kids their too!

    1. They have aneducation strategy. They use everything: mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques to get your kids to understand the concepts they are working on. Your kids will walk out understanding new concepts and won't be frustrated. The instructors take the time to explain things to your kids in whatever way they understand it best.
    2. They assess where your kids are. On your first visit, your kids will take a test and you can see where they are deficient. You can see exactly where they have gaps on math skills and now you can fix that! We were given our assessment while we were there.
    3. Your kids get their own workbook with what they need to work on. Both my kids had their own books with their own worksheets to do. They are allowed to go at their own pace (which is good because Madison is slower than Will at doing homework and worksheets.) My kids even brought in some of their math homework and were able to get helped with those concepts too.
    4. They get rewarded for hard work. The kids got cards for doing worksheets, and there were different prizes to pick from. To get this drum mat, Will had to save up 5 cards (and it isn't easy to get 5 cards!)
    5. They are located all over Chicagoland! Did you know that they have over 40 locations in the Chicagoland area? You probably have one close by!
    6. They work with all sorts of kids. You don't have to be struggling in math to go to Mathnasium. They work with struggling kids, average kids, gifted kids, etc.
    7. The instructors work in small groups and not with kids only their age. You may or may not get the same instructor each visit.
    8. At the end of the month, parents are emailed a Progress Report. You can see exactly where your kids are.

I could go on and on why you should send your kids to Mathnasium. We went during the school year, but heading over there for the summer to stop the summer brain drain would be awesome too. I can only recommend that you check them out!

Oh wow, my kids would LOVE it there. What a cool place that is. I wonder if there is something like this in Boston.

  2. Terri Beavers

I’ve never been to Chicagoland and neither have my kids. I never realized there were so many locations.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they were in all the communities helping out children with math. Good for them and Chicago is lucky to have them.

  4. Amber Myers

My kids need to go here. They aren’t the best at math. Neither am I, so I’m not much help. I hope they open one near me soon!

  5. Sarah Bailey

I have to admit I’ve not heard of this before but how great is it for kids who need a helping hand!

  6. Jeanette

My kiddo is struggling with math right now! I need to see if they have this place close to us. Summer is coming and I need to make sure he keeps up with the other kids.

  7. Joyce

Sounds like a great place. I have never been there but it seems to be a place for kids struggling in math.

Kids are so lucky these days to have plenty of educational resources. I wish I have known this when I was a kid, I struggle with Math it’s been my all time hated subject in school. One day I will bring my nephew and nieces to Chicagoland for surely they would love it.

We have a couple of them and I feel like I need to go so I can help my kiddos with their homework. I have one in AP Calculus and I just don’t know how he manages to maintain an “A”. If he grade were to slip Mathnasium sounds like something we would need to invest in.

I love everything about Mathnasium. My son does great with math but actually likes doing it. He would love something like this.

  11. Math has changed so much over the years. Even well-educated parents struggle to keep up with changes in math, sometimes it’s best to leave it to professionals that can help your child.

I would probably have to drag my husband to the Mathnasium but I would love this place so much! Great place for learning and interacting.

This is so cool. I know our girls would have loved this when they were young. One needed the help, the other just really loved math.

  14. Jodi

We have one right by our house that the high schools all recommend!

  15. Kita Bryant

What a fun little place to go to! Both of my kids would absolutely love it!

  16. Shoshana Sue

I like that you do not have to be struggling with Mathematics, that way kids that struggle with Maths do not have to feel bad about being there as it doesn’t isolate them. Brilliant concept.

My daughter would love this kind of activity. Right now she is enjoying the Kahn academy program for Math.

  18. Carol Cassara

I’ve never heard of Mathnasium but I think it’s a great place for kids to learn and understand math better especially if they’re having a tough time at school. I love that they assess the kids and focus on where they need to improve!

  19. Marysa

Our friend’s kids go to Mathnasium, and they love it. The kids really like it! I would definitely like to check it out.

  20. Jenn Mitchell

This looks like it would be so great as a learning experience. Making math fun is one of the hardest things for a kiddo that just isn’t for it.
