Adele: A Celebration of an Icon and Her Music

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is not yet twenty-five, but now indelibly known as Adele, she had made music history. At the 2012 Grammys alone, she won a record-tying six awards, including the Album of the Year. This Sterling Publishing pictorial plus takes you into the experiences of a young woman who began her life as the daughter of a single teenage mother; started her successful career through a three-song Myspace demo and then, within a few short years, became the bestselling singer on both sides of the Atlantic. The book’s memorable text is supplemented by more than 125 photographs, many of them seldom-seen.

Personally, I am a huge Adele fan. I love her music. However, Adele: A Celebration of an Icon and Her Music has given me an understanding into her background. I love learning about how artist overcame their circumstances (and this was true for Adele too) to become superstars. This book is written so that the youngest to the oldest fan will enjoy it. I love how it self-censors some of the the quotes in the book. I also love that this book brings Adele one step closer to being your friends, a member of your book club, etc. You get a small glimpse into her life.

Adele: A Celebration of an Icon and Her Music is a must have this Christmas for all Adele fans!
