Have you ever thought to clean your washing machine? Were you aware that residue builds up in your machine and causes odor? I personally learned this the hard way.
If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll know that for about six months we’ve had a problem with our front loader washing machine. We kept getting suds errors even if we did the wash with no soap. That error could also be due to drainage issues. In our case, that is what it was. We had something (we don’t know what it was because when the item was pulled out, there was no telling what it was) that got stuck in our drainage tube (in an area we couldn’t access ourselves). We ended up having to have a repair guy come out, and that is when I found out that you should clean your washing machine. I had no idea! Our machine was one of the dirtiest he’d ever seen (though a lot of that was due to the blockage we had).
One of the ways you can get rid of the residue that is hiding in all our machines is using the Affresh Power Puck tablets. The oxygenated bubbling action of Affresh Power Puck tablets penetrates and dissolves the unseen residue. Heavily soiled washers may require repeated treatments to remove traces of odor and residue. In this case, Whirlpool recommends running three successive washer cleaning cycles with one Affresh Power Puck tablet in each.
Now, I've been using this for over a month now and I can say it works. With the heat and the humidity we've had, I've noticed that my washer get stinkier a lot faster and the Affresh Power Puck tablet really takes care of that. Also, as I learned, I should be doing this anyway. What do you use in your washer? Did you know you should be cleaning it?
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of affresh and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
