I don't know about you, but I hate being hot. Now, here in Illinois, we have had a weird summer. When it is hot, we are melting.

Okay, it may not have been that hot and the sign may have malfunctioned, but you get my point. When it is hot, it is hot no matter where you live. Anything that can me more comfortable gets a two thumbs up in my book, so the Avalon Bay AB8K 8000 BTU portable air conditioner fits this bill. This eco-friendly AC is effective and makes you feel cooler in minutes.

The Avalon Bay portable air conditioner includes AC, fan, and dehumidifying capabilities to help improve living conditions. It also has a dehumidifier on it for those days when the moisture is just hanging in the air, and it isn't all that hot. I love a product that multitasks like this. I am a huge fan of the design too. It doesn't take up a lot of room (which for most people, space is at a premium.) Also, for easy moving, it has easy roll casters. However, if you do have to lift it, it isn't all that heavy either. The Avalon Bay 8000 BTU portable air conditioner includes a R-410a refrigerant that helps keep energy costs low. You are able to set the 24 hour timer or sleep and auto mode and the unit will cool as needed, too. There are also 3 (aff) fan speeds so you can personalize the output.

As you can see from the above picture, the display is pretty self explanatory. You literally set it for the temperature you want and that's it. From out of the box to completely set up, took about five minutes. It was so easy that I could have done it myself. However, want to know my most favorite part of this portable air conditioner?

Yes, this portable air conditioner has a remote. I love that I don't have to get up if I am too hot or too cold.

Overall, I think the Avalon Bay 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is a great product. It does exactly what it suppose to — it cooled off my room with relative ease. It scores bonuses points for multitasking as a dehumidifier also. The remote ranks this off the charts. If you need a portable air conditioner, the Avalon Bay 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is your man!

We have central air conditioning, but it can get so hot here in Las Vegas that I would welcome a portable unit to keep me extra comfortable during a heat wave.

  2. I live in Portland, OR so it doesn’t really get that hot here, comparatively speaking. I’ve spent many summers in the midwest, and I remember heat and humidity. We don’t have central air in our home, but we have a couple window units for bedrooms. When we lived in Arizona we had the a/c on 24/7 and I was still hot!

We’re actually thinking about getting one next summer! I love all the settings on this unit and it matches our bedroom – all white 🙂

That seems like a great unit! We have central air but some rooms still get super hot & could use a cool boost.
