We just got back from vacation, and school starting is just around the corner. That means it is that crazy time of year again — back to school shopping!
I luck out that I live down the street from a Walgreens. I mean I can literally walk there.
We use Walgreens for most of our household, school, and health needs (and anything I need for #CollectiveBias). Walgreens makes it quick and easy for everything! They have what I need, and if you need the pharmacy or healthcare clinic, no appointment is needed! Best of all, most insurance is accepted. I know they take mine!
This is also the time of year where back to school physicals and shots need to be done. Walgreens can take care of those for you too!
I don't know about your pediatrician, but mine isn't accepting appointments till after school starts. What's a mom to do? Walgreens to the rescue. Best of all, Walgreens pharmacists will report back to your primary care physician, so everyone stays on the same healthcare page. For me, Book Bill Day is tomorrow. I'm supposed to pay all the school fees and turn in all paperwork, so the school can make sure everyone has everything they need when school starts in 10 days. (Yes, 10 days!)
Now, my kids are probably like yours. I am sure they don't like shots. I am sure you explain to them why they need their immunizations. Yet, I am sure that your kids are like my 7 year old who still would like to climb under the chair to avoid a shot. That being said, I luck out that my kids school teaches about helping others as part of the curriculum. We area all about giving back to the community (be it our immediate community, our country, or even the world). My kids take their tooth fairy money and their chore money and turn it each week to the treasure box at school to help those less fortunate. That is why I love Walgreen's new Get A Shot, Give A Shot program.
You can't miss the signs when you walk into your local Walgreens, and it is an amazing program. Every time you get an immunization for kids at Walgreens, you are helping them Give a Shot to a child in need. When your child gets their school immunizations, like whooping cough or meningitis at Walgreens, they will help provide a life saving vaccine to a child in a developing country through the United Nation Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign. Immunization is one of the world's biggest public health success stories. Yet, 1 in 5 children around the globe still lack access to the lifesaving immunizations! By making your children healthy, you are also possibly saving another child's life! My kids still aren't thrilled getting a shot, but they love helping others with the #GiveaShot program.
If your kids need any immunizations this year, Walgreens should be your go to choice. If you have any questions regarding vaccinations or the Get A Shot, Give A Shot program, make sure you to talk to your local pharmacist. My local pharmacist is Kevin, and he answered all my questions.
Walgreens is your #1 stop to be both happy and healthy (and help others to be healthy too!). Be a part of a great program, keep your kids healthy, and help others.
This is great to know. Heading back to school made easier.
I’m going to be honest here: I rarely go to our Walgreens. Mostly due to an inconvenient location. BUT I think I’ll check it out next time I need anything.
What a wonderful program.
we have health coverage now but last year there was a time we didn’t and we trusted Walgreens to keep our family healthy
I appreciate what Walgreens is trying to do to help others!
This is such a great program. It is nice to be able to soften the blow of shots with being able to help other children. Convenient to get them at walgreens too!!!
My doctor was telling us it is more important now than ever to be immunized since there is a lot of disease around. I think I am getting the flu shot this year!
We don’t do shots either but I do love that there are programs like this to help others get the shots they need.
I love that you get to give back when you take care of yourself!
I had no idea that Walgreens provided immunizations! Thats good to know! I’m also loving the idea of the Get A Shot, Give A Shot program.
I think what Walgreens is doing to help others is great.
It’s so convenient to be able to pop into Walgreens for basic medical care.
I love Walgreens! They always have such great school supplies for a good price!
I love Walgreens! Thanks for the list.
I love this ‘get a shot, give a shot’ program! SUCH a great way help while you care for yourself!
Great program. Hard to believe it is time for school.
Good to know. My daughter is entering Kindergarten this year so I’m new to all of this!
My kids are all caught up with their shots now, but I would have taken them to Walgreens if I could have. I go there myself for the flu shot each year.
Great program
We do immunizations at our clinic, but it’s nice to know this is an option.
I never realized you could get shots at Walgreens! What a great program! So glad to see that Walgreens is helping others!
I’m so proud to be a Shot@Life Champion and am grateful to Walgreen’s for helping so many children who would otherwise not be able to get critical vaccines.
I never had the chicken pox, and the fear of getting it now is great. I need to go to Walgreens and get the vaccine.
It’s nice that so many businesses are giving back. This seems like a great option for people to take advantage of.
I have used their clinic myself when my regular doctors office has been closed, they are great!
i love when companies have promotions like this- by helping keep our own kids safe, we can also help other kids who are less fortunate. that’s a win for ALL of us!
This is a great program! I’ll have to remember this when it’s out time for shots!
Walgreens really is the go-to place for everything! I get all my prescriptions there, snacks, more.
I love our Walgreens – they’re always very helpful.
It’s so nice to see big stores giving back.
Thanks for the immunization reminder. So many good reasons to shop in Walgreens.
Walgreens always has the coolest promotions. I wish there was one in my area.
I love Walgreens. There’s no place else I trust with my family’s prescriptions or any of our medical issues.
Walgreens is such a great store. I am glad they offer this.
I could have sworn that the flu shot GAVE me the flu the other year. Perhaps, just a coincidence. ~lol~ However, I think I’ll get it this year – too much sickness is already going around, and it’s not even cold and flu season.
My Walgreens is a minute drive away and I have to admit that I never thought of buying school supplies there. Will have to check them out and compare prices.
We just finished up our back to school shopping! Can’t believe the summer is over!
Back to school made easier. Thanks Walgreen’s.
I love the “Get a shot, Give a shot” campaign…I didn’t know Walgreens did that!
My boys had to get shots today. And I shopped at Walgreens last week, they had some awesome back to deals which became freebies for me! I love wags!
Thanks for sharing this! I am a Shot at Life “Champion” and do a lot of work with Shot @ Life. I am very appreciative of Walgreens being involved. Last year, you also got additional bonus rewards points (I think it was 5000 but don’t recall for sure) for getting a shot at Walgreens – another bonus!! 🙂
I think it is convenient to be able to get our shots at Walgreens. I shop there often and find great deals!
Thank you so much for helping spread this important message! #client
