Brookgreen Gardens is like no other place you have visited. It truly is a all-in-one place that you can’t complete in one day. There is just so much to look at, and best of all, the tickets you buy are good for 7 days! They realize that you just can’t appreciate all of its beauty in one day. Located south of Myrtle Beach, the 9,100-acre property is a testament to the natural landscapes that surround this site.
Brookgreen Gardens has several different places within it you have to check out. My family and I had a blast exploring Brookgreen Gardens. The first place we checked out was the butterfly garden (they is a small extra charge for this). My kids loved this area, and we were all taking pictures in here.
There were just so many beautiful butterflies to view! From there, we checked out the zoo portion of the park. They had all different sorts of animals . . . . plus the huge spider that we found!
I have to admit I totally loved this sign we came across. To quote Bill, “oh hell no” and I told my family that I would walk in front and save them all. I think I became Will’s hero that day. 🙂
My kids adored the Enchanted Storybook Forest. This place was filled with houses based on stories. The kids played and played and played some more in here. I think Bill and I got just as much of a kick out of it as the kids did!
Lastly, we checked out the botanical gardens and the sculptures. This part was absolutely beautiful. My pictures don’t do it justice.
I have at least another 100 photos from Brookgreen Gardens. The place was beyond beautiful.
If you are in the Myrtle Beach area, you have to stop at Brookgreen Gardens. The price is affordable and you can visit for a week after the purchase of your ticket. You can spend a day at each portion of the gardens. I could have spent all week in the botanical garden part where my kids would have spent all week in the Storybook houses! This place is amazing and is worth stopping at!
What part of Brookgreen Gardens would you like to check out?
My kids would have a field day there.
Wow! Gorgeous! I’ve never heard of Brookgreen Gardens but this definitely looks like somewhere that my family would enjoy – I’m pretty sure that my kids would spend a full day just with those beautiful butterflies!
What a beautiful place to visit!! I love all your pictures. The huge live oaks with all the Spanish Moss hanging down are amazing.
I have never been to Myrtle beach but it looks like the family had a great time.
What a fascinating place. The pictures are fantastic.
What a beautiful place to visit! I don’t know who would enjoy it more – my children or me!
I love your photos! Brookgreen Gardens sounds like a lovely, family friendly place! If we ever plan a trip to Myrtle Beach, We will have to make a stop here!
Myrtle Beach is on my vacation wish list. Thanks for sharing!
Love the pictures!
That spider is super creepy! **ugh**
We have always wanted to go to Myrtle Beach and this feels like I got a mini trip!
This place looks so tranquil! I wish I knew about it when we were in South Carolina a week ago!
That looks like so much fun! Those trees with all that stuff hanging off them look gorgeous!
What a neat place. I love that monarch – I have a monarch tattoo on my shoulder. LOVE them. Brings back so many memories of my childhood.
I love all of these pictures! I have never been to Myrtle Beach but I have heard good things. We will definitely have to check out Brookgreen Gardens if we make it up that way!
My family and I went to visit Brookgreen Gardens a few months ago! We loved it, but sadly the butterfly exhibits weren’t open!
What a gorgeous and fun place to explore. I bet the kids loved it.
It all looks fantastic, but I’d be really excited about seeing all of the butterflies. The arboretum by my house let the kids catch butterflies. They had such a blast, and I know they’d love to see the animals in a more natural habitat.
What a fantastic day. Those trees are outrageously beautiful!
Wow. I think I might enjoy this more than the kids. I really love butterflies. However, I would be afraid of the alligator and the spider.
What a gorgeous place! I’d love to take the family here. It’s really beautiful.
What a beautiful place! 🙂
This is neat to see because you went to some of the areas I didn’t visit there. I was mostly on the sculpture side of things.
Awesome pictures! My kids would LOVE this place. Looks like you had a blast!
It looks lovely! My youngest would love the Thomas the train. I’d love the butterflies!
This is exactly the type of place we like to go as a family. I much prefer places like this to busy amusement parks, and the kids love the beautiful outdoors, too!
What a beautiful place! Love getting my kids out into nature too!
Wow, those pictures are gorgeous. It looks like an amazing place!
I adore all these pictures! I cannot wait to add this to my places to visit. It looks so green and gorgeous
Aww, Storybook Forest look so cute. Yeah, I would have steered clear of that area as well, especially when you show photos of gators that size!
How gorgeous! I haven’t been to Myrtle Beach for ages. I wouldn’t mind visiting again, though!
What a great place to spend the day as a family – we have got to revisit Myrtle Beach!
My kids would love this place, especially if they got to see an alligator!
What a gorgeous place. I’d love to visit.
Beautiful photos, I love those trees! My kids would really enjoy visiting.
Brookgreen Gardens looks so beautiful. My son would love that fairy tale land, but spiders and alligators wandering around freely is a big No!
We loved this place, it was so beautiful. Although we arrived too early for most of the flowers to be in bloom, it was still a gorgeous property, and the boys loved the animals.
This looks like such a beautiful place. Everything is just so amazing to look at.
What a beautiful place. Reminds me of a place called Longwood Gardens in my area. It is so big we only went there once but it was so worth it.
This definitely doesn’t look like your average zoo. My children would love it there. The tree you photographed is just breathtaking!
Wow! What a great place! I can’t believe the amazing pictures, especially of the gator! That spider looks pretty scary! I think I’d be more scared of that than anything.
Amazing! I’ve been to Myrtle Beach several times and never knew this was there! Must go next time!
This place looks absolutely adorable! Love that Enchanted Storybook Forest! Also love the fact that you stepped forward and became the hero lol!!!
