Did you know that Girl Scout Leaders day is April 22nd? As a past Girl Scout Troop Leader, I can tell you that you have no idea how much time, effort, and money is put in by your local Girl Scout Troop Leaders. On our own time, we have to attend training, we have to attend monthly Girl Scout Leader meetings, and we have to set up what we are going to do in our meetings. During cookie season, we have to organize cookie orders, pick up thousands of cookies, and set up cookie booths. We may also do silly things like dress up as a cookie to get a few more cookie sales:

We are also making phone calls to have a guest speaker or getting supplies at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby before a troop meeting. We pick up the badges that the girls earn too. That is just a small glimpse into what your local Girl Scout Troop leader is doing and why you should definitely extend a thank you! Head over to the Tampico website for a few things you can do to help celebrate your local Girl Scout Leaders!
What have you done for your local Girl Scout troup leader in the past? Have any of these ideas helped you for this year?

Wonderful! I love the Girl Scouts!
Hi there Friend, you are so creative! Thank you for joining in at the Friday Favorites Link Party! I hope to see you there this week:) Christine -Must Love Home
I love you as a cookie. What a great look!! I am thinking of the GS for my daughter one day. I didn’t do it, I always played sports, but I think it is an excellent organization.
I didn’t know there was a Girl Scout Leader day. It has been years since I was a girl scout and I had two boys. Their were in Boy Scouts. It is nice to celebrate all the leaders who do so much for our girls. Kudos to all. I love the cookie outfit which would get more sells. Thanks for sharing,
The Girl Scouts is such a great organization for little girls to get into. The skills and message they teach is something that cannot be overstressed in importance.
Ah! I don’t have any girls but wish I did as this is a great organization. It’s nice to do something like this, especially on Earth Day. Love your costume!
I know troop leaders work very hard and I think it’s great. Over the years the GS’s have begun to support Planned Parenthood and their website links to PPH and other sites that I feel are inappropriate for young girls, so we stopped supporting them. For now…
I spent many years as a Girl Scout leader with both of my girls. There is so much more involved than anyone realizes but it’s so worth it to give girls a great experience.
I had no idea that earth day was also Girl Scout Leader day! My mom was my troop leader for years. She also was the community leader for a year or two as well.
My daughter was going to girl scouts before we moved here and loved it. I didn’t realize they had a day for leaders. That’s really great!
I don’t personally know any Girl Scouts in my area. My daughter was a Brownie but she lost interest after a short time. We do purchase cookies though!
As a former girl scout I’m ashamed I didnt remember this until I saw your post, I loved those days and hope my girls will join a troop soon!
I did not know April 22 is Girl Scout Leaders day . I do not know any personally but i know they have a lot to do when they are leader. Thank you to all the Girl Scout Leaders for all your hard work.
I think the Girl Scouts teach young girls valuable lessons! You look adorable! 🙂
What an awesome day. I was one once.
Girl Scouts do so many great things for our young girls! It’s good to see that you are giving back by helping them out when they need you!
I would love to be a Girl Scout and do all the fun!!
I have so many fun memories of being a Girl Scout
I was a girl scout when I was in elementary but I had no idea that April 22 is Girl Scout Leaders Day. Or maybe I knew it then. It’s been years. 😉
I wanted to be part of the Girl Scouts when I was a child, but never had the opportunity. Maybe my daughter will be one someday, though!
Awww, your photo exudes happiness which is very contagious so thank you for adding joy to my day! I would like my daughter to be in girl scout but I can’t find a good one around here.
To be honest we haven’t had girl scouts. Things are so different here but wooohoo lets celebrate! 🙂 I’m sure it’s an awesome experience.
The Girls Scouts has always been such an amazing organization! Good on you for celebrating this special day.
I have always been a sucker for Girl Scout cookies, I always tend to buy more than one box of those!
Being a Girl Scout leader sounds like a lot of work but I bet it sure is rewarding !
The quality of the Girl Scouting experience depends entirely on the leaders of the troop. It is only as good as they are willing to give of their time, their creativity, and their love of scouting. I was a leader for 8 years and I can truly say that I got more out of scouting then the girls in my troop did, simply because I learned from them every single time we met.
YAY for Girl Scouts and to all those who help guide girls along in life to become empowered women.
I had an amazing girl scout leader growing up. I never thought about putting my daughter in scouts until she asked about it a year ago. Bummer, she would have loved it.
I also remember going to girl scout camp too. Ah, the memories. Thank you to all the troop leaders who serve so graciously.
Gotta love those days! I remember cookie days and sales and having so much fun!
My mom helped out with my girl scout troop when I was a kid. She really worked hard.
I remember my childhood, I’m always join girls scout and it’s really awesome to be one of girls scout, I’m so gald tht girls scout is had leaders day!
I have been my daughters GS troop leader for 5 yrs now . I only have one question for you- where did you get that cookie costume? I have to have one!! Lol
We don’t have Girl Scouts here we have girl guides. I try to help out any way I can when they come door to door. I used to be one so I know what its like and help how I can!
I have never been a leader but have a daughter in girl scouts! I can only imagine how much work it is…and I do appreciate the leadership!
Happy Girl Scout Leaders Day! I had no idea it required so much planning and miscellaneous things. Then again .. who would do all that .. but the Girl Scout Leader
I was never a girl scout, but I do appreciate the cookies!
My daughter was a brownie when she was younger and her leaders were awesome. A lot of work goes into organizing all those events!
Growing up I was never part of Girl Scouts and thought it was just something made up from television. I cannot wait to have kids of my own so they can be a part of this experience .
I’ll have to tell my daughter to thank her troop leader. same one for last 4 years. I will see her tomorrow maybe as well, thx for letting me know
Girl Scouts is a great organization. It’s great that their leaders are getting recognized for all their hard work.
Love the photo. I have a friend who is a girl scout leader and she does a lot of work leading it!
Man I would pay big money for that cookie outfit. I was never in GIrl scouts but I know the leaders work hard.
Leaders invest so much of their time. This is such a sweet idea to give back to them!
When my daughter was a Brownie I would help out with the troop. That was a long time ago! Girl Scout leaders are so giving of their time and talents and it’s such a wonderful organization.
This is the first year my girls have asked to do girl scouts. I always wanted to as a child.
I think this is great! Girlscouts is a wonderful organization, and the scout leaders are who make it all happen.
Always a busy leader!
As a former Girl Scout leader for my daughter’s troop, I am happy to support this day! I never realized there was a special day celebrating troop leaders!
No I didn’t know there was a special day for this. Great! I went to Brownies Camp when I was a little girl and know how great a leader can be.
The Girl Scouts are such an amazing organization and do so much for our youth. It is definitely something I hope my daughter’s will be interested in participating!
