I was invited to an early grand opening for our local Chick-Fil-A. Needless to say, I was super excited, since I have never actually had Chick-Fil-A before. I have heard such great things about their food, so this was a great opportunity for me to find out all about them.
Now, if you don't know about Chick-Fil-A like me, it all started in 1946. Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant, Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Georgia. Credited with inventing Chick-fil-A's boneless breast of chicken sandwich, Mr. Cathy founded Chick-fil-A, Inc. in the early 1960s and pioneered the establishment of restaurants in shopping malls with the opening of the first Chick-fil-A Restaurant at a mall in suburban Atlanta in 1967. They now have over 1,700 locations in 39 states and Washington, D.C. Chick-fil-A is still privately held and family owned. They also are NOT open on Sundays.
I know you are all wondering about the food. Oh my God, the food! We got to taste test a lot of their menu.
We tried the Chicken Biscuit, the regular chicken sandwich, fruit, chicken salad, and the spicy chicken sandwich. It was all so good.
We even tried their cookies and cream milkshake and a cookie too. I can't say there was anything we didn't like! We also got to take a tour of their kitchen. Here's the really cool thing — you can go in there anytime you want and get that same tour. It was pretty interesting. I also had some freshly squeezed lemonade too. It was so yummy.
Now, the Chicago Ridge Chick-Fil-A opens on Thursday this week at 6 am. (Normal store opening time will be 6:30 am). Now, if you are one of the “First 100” people in line for Chick-Fil-A who comply with the official rules will receive a Grand Prize of one Chick-fil-A Meal per week for a year! You can start lining up at 5 am tomorrow morning!
Now, I can't for Thursday. I won't be one of the first hundred in the door. However, I'll be one of the hundreds who head in there! I highly recommend you check them out!!
