I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Virgin Mobile USA which is one of Sprint’s prepaid brands. I received two Virgin Mobile smartphones to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Nowdays, everyone has a cell phone, and there are so many plans out there. With most families no longer having a landline, everyone really needs their own cell phone! However, not all plans are affordable to all families especially when you have several cell phone users in your home! Worst of all, there is a data hog in every family! (If you don’t know who it is, then it is you! LOL)
With Data Done Right plans, you can tame the data hog and restore data sharing done right within the family plan in a fair and responsible manner. You also won’t break the bank anymore! Now, Data Done Right Single Line and Multi-line Data Sharing plans are only available at Walmart. Want to know what I love about the multi-line plans? You can share the data among the phones! Both my kids can have a phone for emergencies and I won’t break the bank! The Virgin Mobile application automagically is on the phone (who doesn’t love pre-loaded apps? I know I do!). Another plus for me personally is that I can use popular social media and music streaming apps without data charges such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pandora for just $5 per month! Those normally use a ton of data and are usually what will make you go over your data allotment! Another amazing thing is that every multi-line plan also comes with a free mobile hotspot feature. This makes it even easier to share data across Wi-Fi enabled devices! As a blogger, I don’t have to tell you how much I love a hotspot! It also have parental controls with device curfew. No more having your kids hide the phone in their bed. Well, they can hide the phone, but it won’t work (insert evil laugh). Best of all, there is no monthly fees, no contract, and it runs on the Sprint® Nationwide Network!
You can also set up a chore chart and have your kids earn their data usage. (I love whoever thought this up). So you can have your kids do things like take care of the dog:
and take care of the plants:
To earn some extra screen time! Here’s how to set it up:
What chores would you have your kids do to earn their data usage? What do you like most about the Data Done Right program?

My daughter is too young to have a data plan of her own. I think in a few years time I’ll make use of your idea… and make her do chores for data..heehee
The kids always will be the data hogs. My sister goes through this with her daughter. I love the idea of the chore chart and the reward being data time. That is a brilliant idea.
Great info, I am always trying to get the biggest bang for my data bucks. Everyone has such a different way of doing things it gets a bit confusing.
I’m on a family plan, but not a data hog by any means – that is someone else that I will not name. Having a chore chart to earn time is a cool idea!
That chore chart idea is totally brilliant! I would use that feature for sure.
This sounds like a plan I need to check out. I’m really tired of my current plan and spend way too much.
That chore chart sounds great. That could really come in handy with my girls. I’m going to pass this along to others as well. I love this idea.
Having the kids earn their data is an amazing idea. I wish i would have done this with my kids when they were teens. I will have to share this with my friends with kids.
I try to limit the time that my kids spend online. I like the idea of having a chore chart.
My kiddos do chores all the time to earn things, especially time on the iPad etc! It’s great
Oh wow this is awesome. I love the chore chart. I will be passing this along to my sister bc with her 2 kids she def needs this LOL picking up their toys and clearing the table will def be on their chart LOL
My kids are young adults now and somehow earning their own keep. I think they now know the value of hard earned money so they are more responsible with data usage on their smartphones. When they were young, I had to do the chore chart too.
Sounds like a great plan. I’ve seen Virgin store in my area but never got a chance to check out their plan
I’m really liking this! I definitely want to try to have a chore chart so my kids earn their way to their iPads and such. never even thought of it. This is great!
oh i love this idea of earning the data!
I’m liking that chore chart. You definitely have to have ways to earn data when the kids are watching videos and movies!
This is such a clever idea!! I love this idea of children earning their data time – when I have children will be sure to do this 🙂
We don’t worry too much about screen time, so long as it’s in moderation. I am, however, looking for a more affordable phone plan.
I try to keep the screen time down to a minimum. When my kids do get to have screen time, they have to earn it. So far, so good! 😉
The idea of using a chore chart with the kids to earn data usage is brilliant.
Well, mine child is still young. But, for me it’s about completing responsibilities, and demonstrating respect throughout the day. That is what earns rewards in my home.
We keep his screen time down to a minimum, but I love the idea of earning their screen time! I think pre pay is the way to go with kids until they learn how to use data responsibility!
My kids have to walk the dog or pick up after themselves to get some time on their iPods. They do their chores happily!
