Is There a Draft In Here? BlindSpotz Cold Spot Sensor To The Rescue!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf ofReview Wire Mediafor BlindSpotz.
My family and I live in an old house. By old house, I mean 80+ years old. We have made a ton of improvements over the years, but we still have a ways to go. (We still have some original windows left on the house. They are on our porch, so I'm in no hurry to fix them till now.) Old house, new house – it doesn't matter. You may have some drafts in your house. This is something Bill and I argue about, so I was excited to try out BlindSpotz.
Now, Bill and I argue about whether or not our front door has draft. I say no because the door has a tight fit. However, Bill sits over there and is always complaining about cold feet. (We also live in Chicago, and it's cold here!) Right off my front door is the porch with the old windows. Now, BlindSpotz is so easy to use. You open the package and grab a sensor.
You run the sensor until it is grey. You then place the sensors where you think you may have an issue. We did our front door and my daughters wall in her bedroom. You leave it up for 48 hours.
This is the test on our front door. You can clearly see that the color sensors have been activated and I was 100% wrong. We have a ton of cold coming through that door! My daughter's bedroom was slightly better!
Here's the super cool thing — if your BlindSpotz look like mine, take a picture of them and send to fixthecold@blindspotz.com and they will let you know some solutions to fixing your “cold” problem!
Since we love this product so much, I have arranged for 3 (aff) lucky winners to win a 3 (aff)-pack of BlindSpotz, so you can find the drafts in your house!

This sounds great! It’s important to know exactly where you’re losing energy, but a home energy test can be super expensive. This sounds like a much better alternative.

  2. Amber Myers

I need to do this. I know we have cold spots in the house and I’d like to fix them.

  3. Rachel

What a neat idea. We have a newer house and other than the wind blowing open the dog door, I haven’t noticed any drafts. But my daughter’s room is always cold.

  4. Joely Smith

I keep hearing so many great things about BlindSpotz! I really need to just get some with our huge windows – floor to ceiling! This is an older house and I need to stop the drafts!

That is a very interesting product. We have a lot of draft issues in our house and it would be good to be able to pinpoint where we are losing most of our energy.

We live in a 1800s farmhouse so I totally get where you are coming from. My feet are always cold in the winter even though I know I have closed off all of the spots that are breezy lol. We heat with wood also, so I am always trying to keep things warm, but heat rises. These are a neat idea to find the cold spots.

That is cool. I definitely have cool spots in my house, mostly around the windows where it needs sealed better.

These are quite handy and a lot easier than the tactics I’ve used through the years. I bet these are a lot more accurate than my tactics as well.
