This post brought to you by DeMet’s FLIPZ®. The content and opinions expressed below are that of My Thoughts, Ideas, and Ramblings.
As many of my readers know, we travel a lot. We spend a lot of time in Green Bay visiting my family (4 hour drive), camping (we drive anywhere from one to five hours), and family vacations (we have driven to Myrtle Beach and New York). Needless to say, my kids are use to being stuck in the car. That is part of the reason why when we bought our new van we made sure it had a charging dock for their electronics and a DVD player. For me, I got satellite radio, and we can all listen to different things at the same time. Everybody is happy. That being said, sometimes we all need a little more to keep up entertained and that is where FLIPZ® Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels and FLIPZ® Birthday Cake Covered Pretzels help! The first thing I do for a road trip is pack snacks they all love. I love FLIPZ®, because they come in a pouch that closes so no mess in the car! They also have so many flavors to pick from that there is something for everyone. We always pack snacks that kids can create themselves! The kids created their own Roadtrip Party Mix for our last road trip. All you do is set out some of their favorite snacks (this was cheese puffs, Tortilla chips, pretzels and FLIPZ®), and give them a Ball mason jar to fill with whatever they want. Best of all, there is no fighting, since everybody has exactly what they want!
One of the fun silly things we did was create FLIPZ® necklaces. They are so easy to make too! Just buy crafting twine and string the FLIPZ® onto it. Tie it around their neck and they can eat one whenever they are hungry. (I won’t tell you how many Will ate while I was trying to take this picture!)
Needless to say, these FLIPZ® necklaces went over really well with the kids. (If you notice, I was able to get orange twine for Will – his favorite color.)
We lastly created clipboard tic tac toe boards. The kids loved this! I just bought some colored tape, clipboards, and FLIPZ®. Each kid got to design their own board (they decided to put their names on them, so they wouldn’t forgot whose was whose. I thought the different color tape would solve that, but you know kids!)
Now, once you have designed your board, each player takes a FLIPZ® flavor and starts to play. Whoever gets tic tac toe first gets to eat all the pieces on the board! Needless to say, this has turned into high stakes FLIPZ® Tic Tac Toe!
The other reason I love using a clipboard is that you can clip your FLIPZ® to the board. You will never be without your playing pieces and you will always know where your snack is!
Now, I know you all have road trips planned for the summer. That is why I have to tell you about the amazing contest that FLIPZ® is sponsoring! You just upload photos from your own road trips to Instagram using #ROADTRIPFLIPZ. You will be entered to win a road trip themed prize bundle from FLIPZ®. The prize bundle will be awarded to one winner, once a week during the 6 week program duration. The prize bundle will include essentials for any road trip, such as water bottles, backpacks, coolers, and of course, FLIPZ®! How awesome right? For more information, check out FLIPZ® Road Trip Website, FLIPZ® Instagram Page, or FLIPZ® Community on Facebook.
FLIPZ® definitely made our road trip amazing and fun. How can FLIPZ® help you on your next road trip?
Lots of fun ideas, I like the roadtrip party mix most ! Also a great idea to clip the package to the clipboard
Delicious snacks seem to make road trips a whole lot easier. I would love to munch on a few of those milk chocolate covered pretzels. My grandkids would probably pick the birthday cake covered pretzels. The necklaces are adorable!
Flipz necklaces are a creative idea. Not only will the kids love to make their own. They will also enjoy munching on them especially on a long car ride.
My son really likes the Flipz pretzels! They’re a nice little treat. I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate covered pretzels?
They are soooo good. I may sneak some from the kids.
That Flipz necklace is a crazy but fun idea! I would make these when I take my granddaughter for a trip. It would definitely keep her busy. I just have to remember to have some wet wipes ready!
I love those snacks! They are one of my favorite when I get on the road. It gives me that salty sweet fix I need.
The necklace idea is really cute. Snacks are a must when traveling with kids.
Those look like a delicious treat for sure. I have seem Flipz around before, will have to give them a try!
The necklaces are so fun! I really like the tic ac toe boards too. What a great way to pass the time.
Love the tic tac toe game with the Flipz==that’s a fun way to snack and play and make the ride go that much faster
Whenever we go on road trips I make sure to pack lots of snacks and games! I love how simple these ideas are, and no mess!
How Clever! We just returned from a 1 and 1/2 week road trip to the Grand Canyon. These would have been some great ideas for keeping kids entertained.
Wonderful ideas! I don’t think we have Flipz here in Canada, but I’m going to have to find out. they look delicious!
Love this snack, they have the best flavors and the kids love them! I think these activities are so much fun and it’s a great way to keep kids occupied during long drives!
Chocolate covered pretzels ate so good. They combine the sweet and salty flavors.
I love how you turned it into a gane too. 🙂
I have seen these in the store but I have never tried them. As much as I love pretzels, you would think that I would have tried them. I am going to have to try them now.
Okay that’s fun – love the Flipz necklace! We all love Flipz, they are definitely the perfect snack. Will try this next time we hit the road.
Sound like delicious snacks and lots of fun! I will give them a try and also love the idea of necklaces.
This game looks so adorable. My boys would love to play something like this.
If you have little ones, they might enjoy driving the Pretzel Car across the map and follow where you re going. You could highlight the route you re taking so they can follow along! Be sure to mark the end destination with a star or sticker so they know just where you re headed.
