Feed Your Adventures!

As you know, the Martin family is a busy bunch! We always have a zillion things going on from mom having to go to a Parent Club meeting to Madison having to attend Girl Scouts to Will having to go to a Junior Stewardship or Boy Scout meeting to both kids going to band to Bill having to attend a World Series party tonight. As a family, we are always on the go as you can see. Even though we are a busy family, we a family that takes time off to play also.img_4559

When we stop to take a break for all the crazy adventures that my kids are in (plus a few of our own like camping or our trip to Mexico), we make sure we fuel the kids up. You all know my kids spend hours in the car on weekends as we travel from Illinois to Wisconsin. We also stop along the way to take tours of jelly bean factories or whatever else catches our fancy. Yes, I know, we are a crazy family. (One of the campgrounds we've camped at we purposely chose because they had frog races on Sunday. How cool, right?)img_4558

CLIF Kid is dedicated to playing all year long, and they are encouraging boys and girls everywhere to get back outside, push their boundaries and feed their adventures! As you can see, my family has a ton of those! Play is disappearing at home (aff), in school, and in communities. 70% of moms played outside when they were kids, 31% of their kids play outside today. That is why we also love Pokemon Go. It has forced us a family to go outside together and spend time together. At least once a week, Bill and Will walk up to Walgreens to get what we need and Will gets to hatch his eggs. (Before, we would have driven since its a good couple of blocks).

Whether on the run from soccer practice, or in between homework sessions, CLIF Kid Zbars are perfect for growing kids (and busy parents!) Watch this great video about play to see what I mean. Best of all, they are delicious. They are made with organic ingredients, are non-GMO, and have important nutrients for active kids. Did I mention how delicious they are and how easy it is to slip them in a bag for on the go? Since tonight's a busy night, Will grabbed one of these out to eat on the way to school and another for after. Madison has one to have before her Girl Scout meeting. Also, since they have different flavors, my kids don't even argue, because they have their own favorites (Madison loves the oatmeal ones whereas Will likes the chocolate chip!).

How do you feed your adventures?

  1. ZBar is the best. I keep them in my purse for on the go snacks, in the pantry for after school snacks, and I send them for lunch with the kids.

These bars are so handy to help kids stay active and fueled for fun!!! I prefer to have them on hand so as we don’t tend to eat junk food instead.

Those Clif Kids bars are amazing. I loved the Iced Oatmeal. I felt like I was eating a cookie but without the guilt.

My boys ate these as a snack the day that we took our dogs to the dog park. They loved it.
