Genopalate – Better Eating For A Better You

GenoPalate is a genetics-based, personal nutrition company. They empower people with their genetic information to walk into a store and know which foods are healthier for them, based on their genes. So, how does it work?

They analyze 100+ genetic markers that determine your specific needs to 26 vital nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and sodium. Then they compute your genetic profiles with over 3 (aff) million genetic and nutrient variables to recommend the foods that you would benefit from eating more of. Your “Eating For Your Genes” report includes your genetic results, what they mean, and a personalized list of the 60+ foods that you can use to eat healthier, based on you. Their research is based on high-impact clinical trials and population studies that directly link positive health outcomes with nutritional genomics.

I had them do a report on me. Now, there are two ways to do this. You can get the saliva kit or if you have done the medical testing with 23&Me or Ancestry, you can upload that. If your DNA is already done, you can expect a report in two to four weeks. Otherwise, from the time GenoPalate sends out your kit, your wait will be four to six weeks. So what did I learn?

Quit eating dairy and gluten. I knew I was lactose intolerant so I avoid dairy already. However, I didn't know I also had gluten sensitivity.

Here are a few of the foods I should be eating. I love strawberries and kiwi and pumpkin and carrots already! Woohoo!

I should be eating foods high in all these vitamins!

Few presents will give you more power than GenoPalate. The next time you’re in a supermarket and standing in front of the Seafood section, you’ll have the power of your genetic information to know which fish is healthier for you based on you. If you are like me, you can also make big changes in your diet for a better you!

I need to make some serious diet changes and this sounds like a great way to help me ease into what is best for me personally.

  2. Candy

Haven’t heard of this company and it is interesting their research and how it is tailored to each individual.

  3. Sarah Bailey

I have to admit I’ve never heard of this company before, or anything quite like it but what an interesting idea. To really get to know about what your body does / doesn’t need.

  4. Karen

Oh wow! I have never heard of eating based on your genes. I think it’s an amazing idea. It seems like eating the food that agrees with you on a genetic level would lead to much better health.

  5. Amber Myers

This sounds pretty cool. I’m one of those people who like to eat what they want though, so I’m not sure if I’d be the greatest with this.

  6. Jeanette

I have never heard of this before. It is definitely interesting and I would be curious as to what it would tell me.

  7. Melanie

I have heard of many of the genetic testing companies but not this one. It definitely sounds like a great option. I have cut out most dairy and gluten, and it has been helpful.

This is extremely interesting. I have never heard of Genopalate. So here’s the thing right now I am struggling with something allergy like or a sensitivity and it is impacting my skin a lot. So I really need to figure that out. The only thing I have currently outruled is that Bananas are okay. No issues with them. I have heard a lot of people have issues with tomatoes now so I need to do that as a process of eliminating foods that don’t work with my skin right now. I wonder if this testing would work for me.

I LOVE things like this! I already know my issues, but I TOTALLY want to do this test to see if it comes up with anything else!

  10. Melissa Chapman

I would love to find out what would be the healthiest diet for me and my family. I try to be vegan so we do avoid a lot of foods that could be harmful.

This is really interesting. I have heard of these types of tests before, but only in passing.

  15. Dennis Littley

These tests can be eye opening even with the new changes to eating habits. It sounds like you already have a few favorites! Maybe soon you’ll have even more foods, and recipes, you’ll enjoy even more than before!

  16. Rachel

This is fascinating. I usually try and keep to a healthy diet and I have noticed that when I eat certain foods my body is not happy with me. This is great. I think it could really help lots of people.

Never knew that you could actually know about your food preferences based on genetic information. So our tastes and preferences too are in our DNA. A very interesting post.

  18. Melanie Walsh

That is so cool! I love the idea of knowing specifically what is good for you, based on your genes. Our bodies tell us quite a bit about our nutritional needs, but this is a great cheat sheet to best choices.

  19. Brit Strawbridge

My husband and I have been adapting to the Plant Paradox diet and it’s actually been amazing for us. We have been feeling so much better!
