I figure my Halloween post is a good lead in to my next topic here. ? We were up in Suring this last weekend for my family reunion which was held at the old schoolhouse. Next to this building is a cemetery. A lot of my family is buried there, so we always try to take a walk through when we are up there. One of the coolest (yes, I am using that word) gravestones up there has an interesting saying on it. The guy who is buried there was blind and wrote his saying himself. This is what is written on his gravestone:
Remember friends as you walk by
As you are now, so once was I
As I am now, you soon shall be
Prepare for death and follow me.
Cool and creepy. Let me know what you think. What would you want on your gravestone?
I would want it to say "Error 404: Page Not Found" In smaller print I would write "would you care to Google it instead?" 🙂
LOL. That's awesome!
You guys (I mean, Americans) get to decide what you want written on your gravestone?
We Chinese have a pretty much similar "template". We usually have the name of the deceased, when he was born, when he died, and the family he left behind. Some people have the entire family members' names etched on the gravestone as well.
I don't even want to THINK about it. This is me with my head in the sand.
Wow. That is interesting how different cultures do it. You can do that here too.
The only time I think about it is when we go up there. We visit the cemetery and since we were kids, we always check that one out. I wish I could be that creative.
Visiting by way of the postie blog carnival. Happy Monday!
