I Can’t Breathe

Seriously, I can’t.

Let me start by rewinding my life to a week ago.  I took Will into the Dr.  For a cough.  We walked out with a double ear infection.  Then Friday night Madison complained that her ear hurt.  I gave her Tylenol and we all went to bed.  At 2 am, she climbed into bed with Bill and I crying.  That is so not her.  So off to the doctor we go again.  Single ear infection.

Now, if you follow me on twitter (or about 12 other places too), you know I’ve been sick.  For about a month now.  I’ve sucked it up because well, that’s what moms do.  Except, the nurses basically told me I needed to get checked out after bringing my kids in.

Monday night I sucked it up and went in.  I have a severe case of bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection.  I feel like shit.  I ended up back at the doctors again on Wednesday, because instead of getting better, I was getting worse.  I don’t have pneumonia yet, but I definitely need to take care of this.  I’m now on 4 drugs.  Yes, you read that right — 4 drugs!  I almost fell over at Walgreens when my bill was over $100, and I have health insurance!  We were suppose to go to Green Bay this weekend.  Obviously, that isn’t happening now.

Sooooo, if I drop off the face of the earth for that next week, that’s why.  I can’t breathe.  🙂

PS And how am I still coughing when I’m on two cough suppressants??!!??

  1. Hi Lisa – Wow I feel for you. A few weeks ago I got sick and ended up in the hospital (dehydration due to a bad flu bug). The docs and nurses helped me get thru it, fortunately, but our little one came down with jaundice while I was sick too. Kind of a double-whammy.

It was so frustrating being incapacitated while my precious little guy was hurting….

    Hang in there!

  2. Had something like this last week for about 5 days. My one year old also had an ear infection. I think I had one too because I kept getting dizzy, don't worry you'll live. Anyway hope you and your kid feel better soon.
