Jake And The Never Land Pirates

Will and I are huge fans of Jake And The Never Land Pirates, and we aren’t the only ones!  Jake and the Never Land Pirates is one of cable’s #1 series for boys ages 2 – 5 years old!  It is on track to becoming Disney Channel’s #1 preschool series ever.  I’m also not the only one watching — 45% of moms watch this great show with their preschooler too.  If you have not seen this show yet, it is about a crew of kid pirates.  We follow their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit Captain Hook and Mr. Smee (yes, the ones you remember from Peter Pan!).  Along the way, they use teamwork, problem solving, and physical activity to complete their tasks.  It is super cute show.

What is super exciting is that there is going to be a holiday episode that will be followed in January by the first ever 45 minute series special and season two of the series.  In the holiday episode, the pirates wake to find that Peter Pan has left the crew some presents and a tree to celebrate Winter Treasure Day, and Captain Hook invites Jake and the crew on a winter treasure hunt.  This episode will premier on Friday, December 2 at 8:30 am ET/PT on the Disney Channel.  We’ve seen the episode, and we loved it!  It’s pretty cute and very entertaining.

Also, Disney is listening.  They’ve heard that they want more quality programming throughout the day especially in late afternoon and early evening.  Disney will be launching a brand new stand along 24 hour Disney Junior channel in 2012!

After you see the It’s a Winter Never Land/Hook On Ice episode, you’ll have to come back here and tell me what you thought of it!
