Are Jamberry Nails Worth It?

Untitled drawing

Jamberry Nails are the newest sensation that have hit the market. Jamberry Nails was created by three sisters who wanted a simpler, more cost effective way to keep their nails looking good. After lots of trial and error, Jamberry Nails launched in late 2010.

If you know me in real life, you know I'm not a “girly” girl. However, I do like my nails to be done, and I am one of those lucky people who can grow her own nails. I've actually never gone to a salon to have my nails done, because I don't need the fake ones. That being said, I am a terrible nail polish applier. It never looks professional, and I usually end up either smearing it or chipping it right away. I have been in the market for something better that works better in my life and that is where Jamberry comes into play.

jamberry is it worth it

Now, if are paying to get your nails done, this graphic breaks it down why this is such a better deal! Now, I have tried these Jamberry nails out for over a month, and I definitely have some thoughts about them.

Now, I wore my first set of nails to my Guardians of The Galaxy trip. I matched my nails to my Guardians of The Galaxy shirt I was going to be wearing.

I am going to be honest — the first time you use these will be hardest. With my sister's help, it took us about an hour to do my nails (watch the video on the Jamberry site to see exactly how to do it). However, the second time (more about that below) I applied the Jamberry nails myself, and it took me about 30 minutes. I can guarantee I will get faster each time I do these. However, when you are done applying the Jamberry nails, you are done. There is no sitting around and waiting for anything to dry, and honestly, that's what I love the most about these nails!

Plus, the more you use these, the better you are able to put them on. There are a few tricks you'll figure out to do that will work with your nails. 🙂 Now, I know your next question is “Lisa, how long do these nails last?” I'll be honest that I was shocked with my results. The only reason I took off my Jamberry Nails was so I could change them to go on vacation to Myrtle Beach! The set you are seeing above lasted over 2 (aff) weeks! If I wasn't changing them out for a different design, they would have lasted much longer! Needless to say, I was impressed. I want to show you how well Jamberry Nails hold up. I took a picture of my hands during our Myrtle Beach vacation doing our various activities. If my Jamberry Nails can hold up to all the things we did, they will hold up in your everyday life.

Day 1 and Day 2 (aff) we spent driving in the car. (This is the Chevron design)

Day 3 (aff) and Day 4 was spent playing in the sand and in the ocean. (Salt and sand did a number on my skin – I was surprised that it didn't effect my Jamberry Nails at all.) I do need to add that we actually spent time in the ocean and on the beach every single day. These were full days there.

jamberryjamberryDay 5 we went to Brookfield Gardens. There is a zoo and a botanical gardens there. As you can see, my Jamberry nails are still looking great!

Day 6 I put my Jamberry nails to the test. We took the kids on a 5 mile kayak tour.

I took the kayak picture during the 3 (aff) hour kayak trip!

Day 7 we went to the Ripley's Aquarium. This is my Jamberry Nails in a tank of fish that eat the dead skin off your body!

When we came home (aff), my Jamberry nails looked just as good as they did when we left. I was impressed. On both of my trips, every single day somebody asked me about the nails: other bloggers, hotel workers, family, ticket takers, strangers on the street, etc. Jamberry has such unique designs that everybody wants to know where you got them!

In my opinion, Jamberry is definitely worth the cost. I won't be using boring nail polish anymore! Instead, I will be dressing up my nails! These nails truly stood up to a beating that I gave them. They took a lickin' and kept on stickin'.

Have you used Jamberry Nails before? After my awesome experience, would you try them now?

UPDATE TO ADD: I liked these nails so much and I had such a great reaction to this post that I have decided to become a consultant: http://lisamartin.jamberrynails.net/

I think they are really cute, but I have acrylic nails, so I can’t use them.

    1. Lisa

I just checked and you can use them on acrylic nails!

  2. Jessica

I really love how cute the designs are.I also noticed that they have a section for little fingers that would fit my daughter’s nails perfectly!

    1. Lisa

There are some mustache ones that I am going to be getting for my daughter!

  3. These are really good looking! I’m a nail biter, so not for me. But back in the day when I had acrylic nails (when I was working) I would have loved a product like this. However, I think I would have had my salon person put them on. I’m terrible at doing nails.

  4. Trisha

I LOVE Jamberry in fact, at one point I was actually selling it. Although I’m no longer a consultant, I still buy sheets and use them on my nails and my daughter’s nails. I love the patterns you used!

    1. Lisa

      I’m considering becoming a consultant!

  5. Amy Desrosiers

I have tried Jamberry before too and enjoyed them greatly. I’d love to try them again too!

    1. I will have to try these, My nails are horrible and that is the reason I never get them done.

  6. KatyRose

I haven’t tried Jamberry nails, but they look amazing on you! Might need to look into them. I’ve been really into the at-home shellac nails lately, and these sound like they have similar lasting power, but a way more fun look! – Katy

  7. Jen-Eighty MPH Mom

What a great post! There are several I think my daughter would like too, and of course a few I want!

  8. lisa jones

They Are Soooo Worth It And Sooooo Pretty Love It Thanks!!

  9. Crystal

I love the look of them but I’ve never tried them. I had been getting gel manicures, but didn’t like what they were doing to my nails underneath or my wallet. I think Jamberry would be a great fit for me.

  10. Angela

I haven’t tried these yet. I am glad to hear that they hold up for more than a few days. My polish is usually chipping by then.

  11. Lois Alter Mark

I’ve never heard of Jamberry Nails — where have I been?! Definitely checking them out. They are so cute!

  12. Shauna

I love, love, love Jamberry. I use them on my toes and they last forever… and I get the most compliments, ha

  13. Giveaways 4 Mom

Thanks for this post. I have been wondering if these nails were worth it or not.

  14. Tonya

I’ve not used Jamberry before, but I am definitely interested. I hate applying polish, only for it to come off in a day or two.

  15. Elizabeth Towns

Love how you did this! I like Jamberry nails – the only thing I don’t like is that when you get a sample they don’t match! They are are random designs. It’s kind of hard to decide whether you like the product. Reading your post helped me so much more than the sample!

  16. Liz Mays

I love how great wearing these are. The designs are super playful too.

  17. I love my Jams! Actually, I just love that they stay on for two weeks without chipping.

  18. HilLesha

I have always been a girly girl, but somehow my nails have never been important to me. Probably mostly due to the fact that they hardly grow and break off so easily. These are so pretty, though. I’ll have to tell my sisters about this since they’d love something like this. 🙂

  19. Michelle

I like them, but I am such a nail picker that they don’t last long on me. Very cute though!

  20. Megan @mnmspecial

I’m a consultant, so you know I love them too. I love that you did so much in these and have the pictures to prove it. I’m sharing this with my upline.

    1. Lisa

Thanks 🙂 I did the post as a review, but then decided I like them so much I became a consultant 🙂

  21. I haven’t really used them before but I love the way they look on you. My nails grow really fast so keeping my nails done is a hassle. Maybe this will be easier and last longer!

  22. Milena

I never do my nails. I would however like to try these, they seem like they last!

  23. Rebekah

I had a friend JUST recommend Jamberry to me. I think now I need to go check out their designs. I’ve been doing my own nails for years, but with kids and drying time… my nails look like a war zone after 2 days.

  24. Thanks so much for the post! I’ve been seeing these everywhere and was seriously wondering if it was worth it. Going to get some on payday now.

  25. Shanna

I was wondering if these are worth it. Super cute.

  26. Kimberly Grabinski

I don’t grow my nails beyond the tips of my fingers, I keep them cut very short so I generally don’t do anything with my nails. I always wondered how these would look though because they are SO CUTE!

    1. Lisa

      They would look cute! 🙂

  27. Crystal

I’ve never tried Jamberry nails but I love the designs!

  28. Valerie Remy-Milora

I can’t wait to try these with my girls! They look sooo fun and I love that they last so long and are so affordable!

  29. Danielle

So fun and funky! I love the photo of your nails against the backdrop of yellow flowers.

  30. Digna D.

I don’t do my nails up very much but I must admit that this is very cool.

  31. Kira

Love all the choices you picked, can’t wait to try it out.

  32. Loretta

I’ve been wanting to try these for awhile, but I fear that I lack the appropriate amount of coordination to apply them to my nails without making a gigantic mess! :-p

    1. Lisa

They are pretty easy – you’d do fine with it 🙂

  33. Lexie Lane

I always remember what an ex told me once. That you can tell if a girl takes care of herself and has good hygiene by looking at her nails. I love all your designs!

  34. Debi

I love how you have broken it down. I always wondered if it was worth.

  35. Janeane Davis

These nails look so nice! It is great to see that the prices are so reasonable.

  36. Chrystal @ YUM eating

I’ve had a sample of Jamberry nails sitting on my desk since Fall. I don’t use polish because it always peals off, no matter the brand. So, I thought I would try. A rep sent me some. And, here they still are. LOL. One of these day’s I’ll test them out. They have a lot of cool designs.

    1. Lisa

If you need help, Let me know! I love helping!

  37. Emily

Jamberries lift and the layers separate after two days on my nails. I’ve tried the recommended methods of application (heat, baggie method) and there is no difference in their longevity. I’m really disappointed because they’re so cute!

    1. Lisa

I just use the heater and don’t have that issue. Have you retried heating them on your nails the second day? Also, are you using a blow dryer or heater? If you using on ionic blowdryer, that could be your issue.
