Home cooks no longer need to shy away from adding fresh, light, authentic Indian dishes to their repertoire, because the kit from Kitchen Curry Master puts all the spices and expert instruction they need right on the kitchen counter!
Key Indian spices that can be hard to find in the supermarket aisle or prohibitively expensive are presented in a sleek and attractive brushed steel container – a modern day rendition of the “spice box” that is revered in traditional Indian households and lovingly passed down through generations. There’s enough in the box to make every recipe in the accompanying cookbook at least once, and refills can be ordered online. Recipes are easy to follow, and disprove the notion that the rich and complex flavors of Indian cooking are strictly the province of restaurants.
Kitchen Curry Master was developed by Neena (Patel Williams), a passionate home cook whose roots stretch back to northern India, and who grew up helping in her family’s Indian restaurant in London. Now, Bill and I have zero experience with Indian cooking. I can tell you that before this experience, I have never even had anything Indian before.
There are several things we loved about this kit. By having all the spices included, there was no way for us to buy the wrong thing. Second, there is a guide in the back of the book that shows you what each spice is with a picture. It has made it so much easier when you aren’t sure which spice you are suppose to be adding. The book also includes why you use each spice and what it adds to each recipe. The recipes themselves are so easy to follow. We’ve made several things out of the book – chicken curry (see above), potato curry, and chicken marsala. Everything has been amazing so far.
The Kitchen Curry Master is a great Christmas gift for pretty much anyone who has to make a meal in the kitchen. It takes away all the fear of Indian cooking and allows you to easily make delicious meals. I can only recommend!
Wow! This looks like something I really need — I love Indian food, but some of the spices are hard to come by.
I love that this book has a guide in the back of the book of each spice with a picture. Very cool and helpful, sounds like a yummy book that I would love to use.
