Lovesick

I am always up for a reading a great who done it book, and Lovesick fits that Bill. The book starts with Paul Ducharme sitting in a pool of blood and not knowing how or why any of this happened! We get to learn about the toxic relationship involving a friend and love interest (Wendy) and a best friend (Lee). Each person has their own agenda, and we slowly unravel what is really going on. When Wendy goes missing and Lee has been murdered, you can guess who the blame falls on even if he wasn't holding the murder weapon! In steps in forensic psychologist Dr. Lisa Boyers who must figure out what really happened and not have her own personal secrets come out!

Do I have you hooked yet? The plots of this story are excellently woven into one another, and you can't wait to turn the next page. There are just so many twists and turns, and it didn't end quite like I thought. Overall, Lovesick is definitely a great read!

Here is a quick excerpt for you to enjoy:

He looked like any typical surly Portland High teenager she often saw walking past her apartment, which was a few blocks from the high school.

But his eyes! They stared out at Lisa like the eyes in those portraits of Hitler or pictures of Charlie Manson. Intense little balls of black fire. Creepy. It was the kid who murdered his best friend. Everyone in Portland was talking about him.

“ . . . Paul Ducharme is now awaiting arraignment at the Cumberland County jail. The seventeen year-old was apprehended early last week at the scene of a vicious killing on the Eastern Promenade. He apparently knew the murder victim, Lee Janis. Police say he and the victim had been longtime friends. According to police sources familiar with the case, Ducharme is also being questioned in connection with the disappearance of a local teen, Wendy Trower.
