Making Change – The Barefoot Challenge

Did you know that April 19 – 25 is National Volunteer Week? I try to give my time as much as I can, and I hope you all do too. I couldn't imagine a world without people helping one another. With that being said, you definitely have to meet Bilaal Rajan. He has started his own campaign during this time. He will live his life for that week without shoes, and he's calling it the Barefoot Challenge. You've often heard the saying, “You never really know someone until you walk a mile in their shoes,”. Bilaal has take that a step further (pun intended): he is going barefoot!

To date, Bilaal has raised over $5 million for various causes and is the youngest Ambassador ever for UNICEF, worldwide.  Want to know what the amazing thing is?  He's 12.  If this 12 year old can do this, we can too.  Now, I can't go all week without shoes (since it is against the law here to drive barefoot), but I will definitely try to spare at least some time each day to this cause.   People in Australia, Afghanistan, Switzerland, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania and Thailand, are stepping up for this campaign.  Will you join them?
