My family and I got to attend Monster Jam last night. This was our first time seeing it, and my kids loved it!
Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds.
Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2 (aff),000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
Monster Jam, sanctioned by the United States Hot Rod Association, is the most popular monster truck tour, performing to over 4 million fans annually at the most prestigious arenas and stadiums throughout the world. Monster Jam shows consist of three main fan-favorite elements – the pit party, racing and freestyle.
Monster Jam will be at Allstate Arena from Feb 7-9, 2014. You can save 30% on all performances using code MOM. This discount does not apply to Front Row VIP or Gold Circle seats. No double discounts. Service charges, handling, and facility fees may apply. All tickets $2 (aff) more day of show.
We had a blast at the show. Will's favorite vehicle was the El Toro. Madison like Medusa (because there was a woman driver) and Grave Digger. I happened to like the Zombie truck. I can only recommend attending Monster Jam!
How fun! Monster Jam is coming to my area in a couple of weeks and I really want to take my boys.
Where do you think is the best place to sit? I want to take my 7yo nephew. Also, was it really loud?
There’s just nonstop action in that show, I can tell. No wonder the kids loved it so much!
Oh… my… gosh…
I went to Monster Jam as a child with my brothers and step-father. These pictures brought back such good memories! Thank you so much for sharing! I hope your family had as good a time as ours did all those years ago. 🙂
My sons would love this. I must say I always wanted to go when I was younger!
I am always AMAZED at the sheer size of those vehicles! LOL! Looks exciting!
This sounds like so much fun! My boys would be all over this! We will have to try to go next time they are down here!
That comes here in the summer I think.
So we took our boys last year and they loved it but for our 5 year old it was too long, the wait in between races was not fun. But otherwise a little boys dream come true.
How Fun Can’t Wait To Take My Kids It Looks Like You Had A Blast!!
This looks like so much fun, my boys would get a kick out of this!
I’m heading to see it on Friday! Can’t wait to attend the Pit Party and check it all out! My son is soooo excited!
OMGosh, my son would love this show! Even though he’s 4 he loves monster trucks. And I have to admit, some of those trucks look awesome and I would love to drive one. 🙂
this just looks like SO much fun!! I want to bring my kiddos
WOW This looks like it was a lot of fun. My boys would totally love to go to a monster Jam. Did you get the mother of the year award for this?
I have never been to a Monster Jam before! Something tells me that my little boys might like it!
My almost 2 year old lost the sound of motor cycles and cars and he loves making the noise when he’s moving something or in the cart at the grocery store. I wonder if this would freak him out or if he would be super excited. 🙂
This looks like such an awesome time!
My kids would love to see cars get crushed! The Zombie car looks so cool, and powerful!
I’m continually amazed at the places you go with your kids! You must be the coolest mom ever … the Monster Jam?! Love the photos 🙂
It seems like you and your family had a great time! It looks like a fun adventure.
Love Truck Jams. Looks to be a great event.
I have always wanted to go to a monster truck show- this looks awesome!
I wanted to go there a few years back!
Monster Jam was here recently and no-one wanted to go with me. I am now regretting not going. 🙁
