Did you know that the average car is 11.4 years? That means some of us own cars that were on the road before the iPhone was released! I know I am one of those — my van is 10 years old. Cars this old didn’t have all the fancy dancy gadgets that the new ones do know. However, have no fear, you don’t have to buy a new car just to get some of those functions anymore! There are a ton of after market products you can add to your vehicle! I recently attended the TNTChicago event where I got to check out these devices, and I know a few of these are now on my Christmas list!
Lastly, there is the Cobra Drive HD Dash Cam ($199.95) that records everything the driver sees, even at night thanks to infrared LEDs. When the built-in accelerometer senses a sudden acceleration or collision, it automatically save video surrounding the incident. You can also get some great video of your surroundings!

As a guy, i really need a dashboard cam so that i can sing silly in my car and annoy my wife and let the world know about it! Since my car is not that brand new, it usually get jammed so often and jam starters come in handy.
The JumPack makes a great gift for teen drivers. You never have to hear “I couldn’t call because my phone died” or “I was late because my car died” ever again!
I think it’s great to have devices that allow people to talk hands free. It will probably save many lives.

Cobra Dash Cam would be awesome! Especially for seeing at night. I would love a backup cam too with all the kids I have running around.

I know that power pack would come in handy. That dash cam would be super nice as a bit of extra insurance when traveling.

Now that the weather is getting colder i have been thinking of installing a remote starter. I hate having to get in a freezing car.
I had never heard of this and it sounds absolutely wonderful! Is there anything it can’t do? lol Wow! Very impressive. I have two young drivers in our home so this is a priceless device to have on hand. I’m going to have hubby buy one! 🙂

It is so amazing the cool things they have come up with for vehicles in the last few years! I mean things that I never thought possible back when we got married! I think the CarLink would be really awesome to have for our new van!

I love how the new cars have all of these things built in. But, it is great that they make products for people with older cars too!
I’ve got to get one of those Jump Packs. My battery once died on me late at night, and I was stuck for about an hour before a car came by and jumped me off.
Wow! I never knew this existed. I need all of them (of course I will have to convince the family to buy them for me!) My hubby is a huge car person he would love these too!
I love that this product allows for hands free calls! There are so many people who totally need this type of product that I see driving.
I think it’s great to have these tech devices on hand but important we don’t learn to rely on them! Some of the old school skills still come in handy in emergencies, but these are also nice innovations to have accessible.
