La Brea Bakery is the leading artisan bread in the United States and is sold in 7,000-7,500 accounts (retail outlets and chains) nationwide. They have an awesome contest, and they want you to nominate your “Thanksgiving Hero”! La Brea Bakery will deliver fully catered meals to 5 finalists nationwide on Thanksgiving! Submissions will close Nov 15th, 2015, so ensure you get your nomination quickly and early! Finalists will be announced on November 17th, 2015, after which the public can vote for their favorites through November 20th, 2015.
Now, we all have somebody in our lives that we would consider our Thanksgiving Hero. I want to introduce you to Dani Ryan.
Dani embodies a hero even if she doesn't think so! She has worked as a paramedic and firefighter for the Oak Brook Fire Department for ten years! She saves lives for a living. She has given up countless holidays with her family to keep the rest of us safe! That's why she's my hero.
I also can tell you how selfless she is. She worked with me on her day off last week at our school's book fair. One of the kindergarteners fell and hit her head. She was bleeding pretty well, too. Dani ran from where we were on one end of the building to the classroom, which is literally on the other end, to help that little girl. (We are a tiny school, so we don't have a school nurse.) She did it because, well, that's what she does. Selfless to a tee.
You all have somebody in your life like this, so make sure you nominate them! Who would you select as your Thanksgiving Hero?
Thanks for sharing something so amazing 🙂
I can think of so many people who deserve to be nominated. I love this campaign.
I love the idea of nominating a personal hero. True heroes never ask for or expect recognition. That’s why it’s so nice to give it to them!
The idea of nominating a personal hero is an awesome idea and I love it. I have a few people in mind that would love to nominate.
Dani sounds like an incredible woman and certainly sounds as though she has been a hero to many people. The best heros never feel that they are heros, which I can completely understand. Just doing what everyone should and what is right.
Dani definitely deserves to be nominated. She sounds like an awesome person to have in your community!
The idea is totally awesome. Heroes can be found everywhere and it is time to recognize them. 🙂
I just recently heard about this and I love this initiative. I live in LA and haven’t been to La Brea bakery, and I didn’t know it was so well known, so I may have to check it out!
I’ve just heard this now and I find this great. We will know the simple people who help others who are in need.
Dani is an amazing woman and she deserves this. I love reading about our unrecognized heroes.
What a great campaign, there are so many unrecognized and under appreciated everyday heros out there!
This is such a wonderful campaign. I know there are quite a few people out there who are worthy of being nominated.
This is such a great post!! I can think of several people that need to be nominated!!
Thanks for sharing! Shes such an inspiration! I would nominate my mom as my Thanksgiving hero.
There’s so many people who I think deserve this. What a great campaign for Thanksgiving.
Firefighters and paramedes are real heroes of everyday life. If I have to nominate a hero, that would be my Mom.
She’s one amazing human. Hope we have more people like her. Kudos to you and to Dani!
I love this, I can think of a few heroes that should be honored.
So many people I know could be nominated! Great campaign!
I don’t think I have heard of this bakery before. This is great. Thanks so much for sharing.
Omg what an awesome campaign!! I can think of so many that deserve it… So hard to just pick one!
I would nominate my grandmother as a thanksgiving hero. She always brings everyone together and gives out so much love.
That’s exactly the kind of person you want around your child. I’m happy you’re giving her recognition. 🙂
How heartwarming! I love hearing stories like this one.
