The very nature of the Olympic Games promotes active, healthy lifestyles and many draw inspiration from these events on a daily basis. The Olympic ideal is incredibly important, and that’s why USABMX and the U.S. Olympic committee have gotten together to offer, in celebration of this year’s Olympic Day, free race days (June 22-July 1st) at over 300 participating BMX tracks across the U.S.!
These race days promote an active lifestyle for families and will also be free in celebration of Olympic Day.
On June 23, 1894 Pierre de Coubertin convened the first Olympic Committee meeting at the Sorbonne in Paris. Olympic Day, the celebration of this historic event, is currently honored in over 160 countries. Olympic Day is not just a celebration of this important day over a hundred years ago, but a worldwide attempt to promote fitness and well being along with promoting the Olympic ideals of Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship.
Since this event is all about healthy exercise for kids, I knew I wanted to pass along this information for readers. (Plus, Bill's cousin is a rider, and I love to help the cause when I can). Since I think this is such a great event, I have arranged for one lucky reader to win a free BMX Membership and a 50 dollar gift certificate for the NBC Universal store, a hundred dollar prize package in total. Here's what you need to do:
Our closest track is Oshkosh—Zack would love to go check it out!
