Saving Money, Stocking Up #NotGoingAnywhere #ad

Hello, winter!  How much snow do you have in your area?  We just had 29 hours of snow where I live!  This is just a few hours into the snowfall.   We ended up snowblowing 3 times today.

On top of the snow, we also are getting blistering cold.  With this cold weather, every is running to the grocery store for supplies.  The next two days are going to be freezing cold (literally!).  We are actually cold enough that they cancelled school for tomorrow.  Our school never ever ever gets cancelled.  I was shocked yet happy when they called school off.  With our windchill going to be hovering around -50 degrees, I am gladly keeping my kids home.

I also luck out, because we just bought a ton of food for Madison’s birthday party for this weekend.  However, I know you all aren’t as lucky as me and need to run out for milk, bread, etc.  That’s why I am happy to tell you how to get $5 off your $50 bill at Jewel!  Just register here and then you can print off your coupon!

How much snow did you get?  How cold is it by you?  What groceries do you need to run out and stock up?

  1. Whew! Snow? I live in Florida and it’s been pretty cold, though today wasn’t that bad. Tomorrow however, it’s going to get down to 17 degrees. Now, that’s cold! Even more so, considering I’m in FLORIDA~

Love the picture by the way, very pretty!

  2. We had just a light snow, but lots of rain and wind chill factors made the temperatures below -5 today and almost -11 on Tuesday 1/7. School is cancelled both days and my daughter won’t be returning to boarding school until Wednesday because I’m not taking her back until then. It’s too cold to travel when anything could happen on the road.

  3. OMG, I can’t even imagine what you are experiencing! We’re “cold” in the desert with a high today of 67! I’m home watching the BCS championship game, with pjs and slippers. But I’m certainly not complaining!! And I promised the florists I know who are struggling with freezing flowers that I will never complain when we have to deliver in 110 degrees!

  4. We had to run to Jewel on Saturday and it was starting to become a madhouse as we were checking out. Cashier kept apologizing. Good News, going to be 34 on Friday..Heat Wave!!

  5. We have not had as much snow as you did, but it has been super cold. We used to live in WV and had about 4 or 5 foot of snow for about 4 months straight! I didn’t like to go out! I keep powdered milk in the pantry for emergencies! Hope it warms up soon.

  6. Thanks for the Jewell coupon! To answer your questions…They’ve nicknamed it Chi-Beria where we live. The temps are an arctic -30 degrees or worse and the snow was relentless last week. Schools were closed today and will remain closed tomorrow. Thankfully we are not out of food yet, the news forecast sufficiently scared us into the commissary to stock up last week. You stay warm now!

  7. The weather in NY has been nuts. It was 40+ degrees 2 days ago and all the snow mostly melted, within 6 hours it dropped to freezing and it’s currently 0 degrees (without windchill) and everything is coated in ice! We were supposed to get 2 feet of lake effect but it missed us. Times like this I’m so happy for cloth diapers and breastfeeding so we don’t have to go out for baby needs!
