I live in a different state than my mom (she is in Wisconsin and I am in Illinois. It is about a 4 hour drive between our houses depending on traffic). I have some very different ways I've showed my mom that I appreciate her over the years. First, I have send her flowers like these ones I just got from 1-800-Flowers:
This arrangement is called Floral Devotion. It is gorgeous bouquet of golden sunflowers and lovely lavender daisy poms & roses. They are so pretty and really have been holding up well.
If you are looking for an amazing Mother's Day gift, I seriously can only recommend! They also have Mom’s Favorite Roses, 24 Stems andRadiant Tulips for Mom that also would make amazing gifts. Since I love my bouquet so much, I have arranged for you, my lucky readers, to get 15% off their 1800Flowers.com order of select Mother's Day Favorites! Just use code: New15 when you check out!
Another way I show my mom I appreciate her is that I buy her favorite perfume whenever I can. Avon makes it, so I have to track down an Avon lady to find it when she runs out. I just pay for it and give it to her.
I also plant for my mom. She had knee surgery and can't plant flowers in her front yard. Every year I pick up new flowers for her and then plant them for her when we are in town by her. I must do a good job, because one of the neighbors asked if I was for hire. I'm not sure if he wanted me to do his front yard too!
We also take my mom out for dinner and pay when we can too. That is hard to do because you basically have to tackle her to get to the bill before she grabs it. It's actually a running joke now, because she smacks my husband in the arm if he tries to reach for it and she's decided she is going to pay.
If we (my sister and I) find concert tickets for bands and singers she likes, we also pay and get those to surprise her. We've done that several times over the last several years.
How do you show your mom that you appreciate her throughout the year? Do you send flowers or do something else to show her how special she is?
