How do you show your mom that you appreciate her?

I received compensation from 1800Flowers.com for my participation through my relationship with the Quality Blue Community. All opinions are my own.

I live in a different state than my mom (she is in Wisconsin and I am in Illinois.  It is about a 4 hour drive between our houses depending on traffic). I have some very different ways I’ve showed my mom that I appreciate her over the years. First, I have send her flowers like these ones I just got from 1-800-Flowers:
IMG_2472This arrangement is called Floral Devotion. It is gorgeous bouquet of golden sunflowers and lovely lavender daisy poms & roses.  They are so pretty and really have been holding up well.

IMG_2471If you are looking for an amazing Mother’s Day gift, I seriously can only recommend!  They also have Mom’s Favorite Roses, 24 Stems and Radiant Tulips for Mom that also would make amazing gifts.  Since I love my bouquet so much, I have arranged for you, my lucky readers, to get 15% off their 1800Flowers.com order of select Mother’s Day Favorites!  Just use code:  New15 when you check out!IMG_2473

Another way I show my mom I appreciate her is that I buy her favorite perfume whenever I can.  Avon makes it, so I have to track down an Avon lady to find it when she runs out.  I just pay for it and give it to her.

I also plant for my mom.  She had knee surgery and can’t plant flowers in her front yard. Every year I pick up new flowers for her and then plant them for her when we are in town by her.  I must do a good job, because one of the neighbors asked if I was for hire.  I’m not sure if he wanted me to do his front yard too!

We also take my mom out for dinner and pay when we can too.  That is hard to do because you basically have to tackle her to get to the bill before she grabs it.  It’s actually a running joke now, because she smacks my husband in the arm if he tries to reach for it and she’s decided she is going to pay.

If we (my sister and I) find concert tickets for bands and singers she likes, we also pay and get those to surprise her.  We’ve done that several times over the last several years.

How do you show your mom that you appreciate her throughout the year?  Do you send flowers or do something else to show her how special she is?

  1. I still have to send something to my mom for Mother’s Day. I wish I could send myself but I live too far away from her. These flowers are gorgeous.

  2. Those flowers are SO lovely. They’re seriously the prettiest. I need to get my butt in gear on getting something put together for my mother and grandmother for Mother’s day. I’m so behind!

  3. Flowers can brighten anyone’s day and indeed make for a great Mother’s Day gift. The Floral Devotion is the flowers I would choose for my mom. It looks so beautiful and I know it would brighten her day if I got her this one. Thanks for sharing the ideas.

  4. Oh my! The flowers are gorgeous! I’m so glad you reminded me to order my Mother’s Day flowers and the # to call couldn’t be easier! Gotta go make a phone call! 🙂

  5. I’ve always thought flowers were a great choice for Mother’s Day. I’m hoping to see my mother this year for Mother’s Day. We about 1 1/2 hours apart, so we don’t get to see each other as much as we’d hope.

  6. These flowers would make a great Mothers Day gift. My Mom would love them. Flowers always brighten up a room.

  7. I am going to have to look into something like this for my mother for Mother’s Day as we do not live close! Awesome looking bouquet 🙂

  8. Omg what a beautiful floral arrangement!!! I just love it when my daughter and hubby get me pretty flowers 🙂
