I started playing soccer when I was 13 years old. A little older than when most kids start playing, however my grammar school never had a soccer team-until 2 years ago! Nevertheless, I love the sport and began coaching 2 years ago when my daughter started playing (at my old grammar school). It gives you all the basics, the rules, the positions, the regulations, and much more. Soccer For Dummies covers the history of soccer; I mean how many years it has been around, the teams involved, and players; the game itself from how to kick a ball properly to the different player positions; the World Cup; and finally all of the soccer greats.
I thought a knew most of what there was to know about the sport, but now after reading this book I know I was wrong. I am more informed and have every intention of keeping this book handy for this spring when I get to coach for my 3rd year in a row.
