Take Action Against Domestic Violence #HopeLine and A Giveaway Too!

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/HopeLine from Verizon.

Did you know that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime?  Did you know that on a typical day, more than 20,000 phone calls are placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide?  We all know somebody who has been affected by Domestic Violence.  You may often feel like you can’t do anything to help.  However, you can!  We all have cell phones laying around that we don’t use.  You can take action against domestic violence by helping HopeLine® from Verizon reach its goal of 1 million phone donations by the end of 2015!  All you have to do is drop off your wireless phones, chargers and accessories from any carrier at a Verizon store and help support victims and survivors of domestic violence.  However, a small move by you, it is something that can save a life.  You can also purchase exclusive purple accessories at Verizon, like a headset, phone or tablet case, and HopeLine® from Verizon will donate $1, up to $100,000, to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

  1. i am a survivor of domestic abuse so each and everyday i thank god i have the strength to leave…And able to move on with my life with my kids….And i love the headphones….

  2. My mother was a survivor of Domestic Abuse so this program is near and dear to me. I will be making a gift basket donation to our local women’s shelter by the end of the month to do just a little something to help out.

  3. What a great way to support this! I know a few people that have been abused in their lives (some are still there) and it breaks my heart. I might have to go get me some headphones.

  4. Domestic violence is such a tough topic but I’m happy to see that we are finally talking about it. I am happy to support the movement and share the discussion I’ve had my own experience with domestic violence.

  5. I hate domestic violence and if I have to wear purple everyday to show my support I will. I don’t know how people can handle that. Help should be always there and thanks to Verizon for taking part in this cause. Nice giveaway btw.

  6. this is such a great cause! i know so many women who are victims of domestic violence. I know some who did not survive. Thank you for helping to spread a message of hope! There is help available!

  7. I didn’t even realise that it was domestic violence month. I never heard of this before, sounds like a good time to spread awareness so we can all help out victims.

  8. As someone that grew up in and survived domestic abuse, I am always appreciative of the strides that companies are making to help raise awareness. Thank you for sharing this one.

  9. I am a survivor from DV as well. Roughest years of my life but here I am. I am glad to hear that Verizon is doing this. I love all these accessories.

  10. I didn’t do anything for the awareness month, simply because of circumstances. I spent many years though volunteering at the local domestic violence shelter. There really is more need than can be met, and a lot of women do not receive any help at all.

I like the purple Otterbox case.
