The First Communion Invitation Search

Can you call believe it? In less than a month, Will will make his first communion.

I know, what a handsome young fellow. I'd have to agree. However, something I've learned over the years is that boys are often not treated equal. There are never any cute boy clothes or shoes. If there is, there no where near the same amount. It is something that has driven me absolutely crazy over the years. I know that any of you who have boys can totally agree with this.

When it came time to do a search for our invites for Will's First Communion, I tried to find invites in the store that were nice, non generic, and boy. Needless to say, we totally failed on that front. I went to my next favorite source — Tiny Prints. They have never done me wrong — I get my business cards and Christmas cards from them. Needless to say, I was amazed at Tiny Print's First Communion Invitation selection!

It's the little things in life that make me happy. The fact that I can get a non-pink first communion invitation has made me extremely excited! I loved that I actually had so many choices and that I had to make Bill decide because I had too many great choices to pick from! Seriously, that never happens! I was even able to get some matching Thank You Cards which was a winner for me too! I just wanted a classic invitation where I could list the church and the party on there. If it grabbed your attention, it was even better. Tiny Prints more than delivered! The best part is that I have mailed these invitations out already and have gotten a few compliments (and a few people people wanted to know where I ordered them from! FTW!)

What do you look for in a First Communion invitation? Have you ordered from Tiny Prints before? How do you think our first communion invitations turned out?

I don’t have kids. I’m also not Catholic, so I’ve never had to send Communion cards before. I’ve also never used this company for any invitations, but I think I will next time. Those cards looked great.

  8. Rosey

Well he’s certainly dressed for it! And looking very (cute) and handsome! Congrats to him on his first communion.

  9. Dawn

Tiny Prints looks awesome! Back in the day when my son had his first communion, we had to buy cards from a stationery store. This is SO much more awesome.

  10. It really can be tough to find great invites for boys! We love using Tiny Prints; they’re always my first stop for invites, announcement, etc.

    1. Gabriel

  11. Amanda Love

Those invitations came out looking pretty good and Will looks really great in his suit. You’re right though so there are so many more options out there for girls than boys.

  12. Those are wonderful cards. We don’t have a communion coming up, but we are planning a party that will require some awesome invitations.

  13. Sounds like a nice way to teach children what communion really is and what The Bible says about it. Good resource.

  14. Allie D.

I love your First Communion invites! They came out really well, I have been looking for a good place to get Christmas cards that we can send out this year. Going to check out Tiny Prints.

  15. Alaina Bullock

  16. Alli

I love Tiny Prints and I have ordered from them before. I have 4 grandsons so I know the pain of trying to find dress clothes for them. There will be 100 racks of beautiful dresses and one rack of picked-over boys clothing. 🙂

  17. I love Tiny Prints! Your invites are so cute! We used them for our baptism invites and birth announcements!

  18. How precious he looks. It’s nice that you can get them now from Tiny Prints. I know there were so many things my daughters had that they just did not have cards for. I love how you can personalize. Congratulations to him and your family.

  19. Jessica Harlow

  20. Jenna Wood

I never considered it but you are quite right- communion is not usual associated with young boys- but should be! It’s great you were able to get an invitation that really captured the event without looking generic.

  21. Lorane

The Invitation should be simple .. but should “stand-out” enough to convey a message

  22. becca

OMG your son is too cute in that suit. We don’t do Communion but would love to get invites for son’s band banquet. Off to see what they offer.

Great job finding the perfect invitation! I agree. It is almost too easy finding things for girls. I have had to search harder to find similar things for my boys.

  27. These are super cute. I can’t believe the stores didn’t have gender neutral or boy communion invites.

  37. HilLesha

I’ll have to agree how much it’s a trying experience to find cute clothing for boys, especially when my son was a baby. He is now 9, and I believe that boys clothing has come a long, long way since then. As for Tiny Prints, that is the only company I will order from when it comes to cards.

  38. Tiffany

Now that you mention it, most first communion cards are rather feminine! Congrats to your son on his first communion. Hope the day went/will go well!
