The Good Wife

CBS has a new series coming out called The Good Wife which I find very interesting. Rumor has it that it is suppose to take place in Chicago (Hmmmm, could all of our corrupt politicians here have something to do with that? Who knows?).  I’ll be honest, that immediately peaked my interest. The show stars both Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth which are two of my favorite actors. Margulies plays a wife and mother who must assume full responsibility for her family and re-enter the workforce after her husband’s very public sex scandal and political corruption lands him in jail.

I find the premises of this show very interesting in light of all the “affair” scandals we’ve seen in the last year.  It has always floored me that these women “stand by their man”.  Bill and I both have an agreement that if one of us cheats — it’s over.  No questions asked.  It’s done.  This show hopefully will shed some light on why these women stay.

Are you going to watch?  Would you stand by your man if he cheated on you?

  1. I also want to check this show out. I think it may shed some light on why these women do what they do. I'm not married but I don't think I would be able to stay with a man that cheated on me.

  2. It takes a lot of strength, family/friend support and financial security for your children, to just 'up and leave'.

It took me 30 years to finally make the break – and it was rough because there were many good years of family togetherness, holidays, sharing time with my spouse and the lifestyle we'd built.

I can honestly say I'm much, much happier with less stress and the freedom to be me 🙂

The 'Good Wife' sounds really interesting, although her situation is going to be 'extreme' of course – which will ultimately make her stronger.

    1. My butt would be back in Wisconsin if it every happened.

And the show is going to be the extremes otherwise it would be boring. LOL It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

  3. I think this is going to be a really good show, and I can't wait to check it out.

If Mike ever cheated on me, he'd be lucky if I didn't Bobbitize him. (J/K…I really wouldn't do that because I'm too squeamish!)

But I strongly believe that cheating is wrong under any circumstances. If one is that unhappy in a relationship that they feel the need to look elsewhere, perhaps they should just leave, make a clean break. If you want to fool around with multiple partners, then don't get married in the first place.
