With Spring Break around the corner, I’m so excited to let you all know that we are going on vacation! I think this is our first Spring Break trip we’ve made! We are heading to Gulf Shores Alabama where we rented a house right off the beach! We’ll be heading out there with my cousin and her family, so we’ll have a total of 4 adults and 6 kids!

I want to talk about a few of the things we are planning on doing while in Gulf Shores. There is so much to do and not enough time to get it all in! Plus, we want some beach time too!
Speaking of beach time, we are working with Beach Bum Services. They specialize in beach rental equipment! They stay fully stocked year-round with all sorts of beach rental equipment, such as large beach canopies, lounge chairs, kayaks, beach carts, umbrellas, beach and water sports gear, and much more. We will rent a grill (the house doesn’t have one), chairs, and a tent.
We’re gearing up for an exciting deep-sea fishing adventure! A few years back, Bill went on a trip like this during a work event and knew he wanted to share the experience with the kids right away. Since we already enjoy fishing together on our camping trips, we’re pretty sure they will love it. For this outing, we’re teaming up with Reel Surprise Charters. This family-owned and operated company offers private charters and walk-on trips (great for families or solo anglers looking for a more budget-friendly option). Fingers crossed we bring home dinner!
We will also head to Fort Morgan/Dauphin Island and check out the historical sites! We will take the Dauphin Island Ferry and check out the Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab! The Estuarium is a public aquarium that highlights the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands, and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. It includes the 10,000 square foot Exhibit Hall, a 7,000 gallon sting ray touch pool, and the Living Marsh Boardwalk. Sting rays are so cool!
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is also on our itinerary! We are hoping to have a few encounters with the animals there! They have more than 500 animals, daily keeper talks & shows, animal encounters, a petting zoo, an aviary, and a picnic area. We’ve been told it is a must-stop!
One day will be spent at the National Naval Aviation Museum to see the Blue Angels!
Lastly, if we have time, we will be heading to Gulf State Park! Gulf State Park’s has two miles of beaches with plenty of white sun-kissed sand, surging surf, seagulls and sea shells. There is 25 miles of paved trails for walking or biking! They also have largest pier on the Gulf of Mexico which you can fish off of!
As you can see, we have a lot of fun scheduled for our vacation! Follow along with us as we head to Gulf Shores! (You can follow the hashtags on social media #ALBeachBlogger, #GulfShores, and #OrangeBeach )
Yeah for vacations. We enjoy the beach but still need to do other things. The museum and zoo are always on our lists of places to see and visit.
I’ve never been to Alabama. We’ve been having lots of cold and snow so the beach often sounds good to me in the winter.
Same here! We are suppose to get snow tonight here in Chicago!
Now that looks like a lot of fun! I have been to the golf Shores and every time we go we have such a good time. I am so glad that you get to go. It looks like a great time is planned.
Good to know! This is our first time there!
This sounds like such a nice relaxing vacation. I hope you guys have an amazing trip! Can’t wait to read all about it.
We live just a few hours east of Gulf Shores, in Panama City. I highly recommend the zoo, and do some encounters (we’ve done the kangaroo and sloth), the museum in Pensacola is amazing, and so is the USS Alabama in Mobile.
I’m glad we’ve got a good plan set up! 🙂
I hope you have an amazing time! I love being by the water. We’re going to the beach this summer and I cannot wait.
That whole area is just amazing. You are going to love it and have a great time. The beaches really are beautiful. I can’t wait to follow along.
The national aviation is a place that would be great for a family to visit I bet
I never went to Gulf Shores but it sounds like a wonderful destination. Hope you have a great time. Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
We are at the end of our Spring Break here, and we did absolutely nothing! I feel like it was totally wasted. By my husband is never one to really go anywhere (I can barely get him to take time off work!), so I can’t say I’m surprised.
Our spring break ended last week and we didn’t have a chance to get away. Too close to baby time. Hopefully next year we will be able to get away
Wahoo! I hope that you have a blast. Whenever I see beach pictures, I think about the years when I spent in NC where I was about an hour from the beach. I loved going fishing and catching dinner. I used to fish from a pier and I usually came home with dinner. Then other times, I would only catch baby sharks or an occasional stingray. Man, I miss the beach.
Oh you will love it there! The sand on the gulf is bar none!
I would move to the gulf if I could. I have always enjoyed the waters there.
We live in the mountain state so we seldom see the beach. Whenever we get the chance, we always want to go for a vacation in a coastal area.
That sounds like a great vacation spot! I totally need to check that out. I can’t wait to hear all about it!
I’m not a beach person but the weather in our country always make me want to stay in the beach during summer. Hope you’ll have a blast!
Seems to be an active and very interesting vacation. I think we all need a spring break 🙂 Turn back with more energy and inspiration! Have a wonderful trip!
This is my kind of vacation! I’m sure you’re going to have lots of fun during your stay there! I love beach bumming but it’s good to try what the place has to offer as well! Love this!
This would be a definitely a super fun vacation with the kids! Make sure to document it and I’ll be looking forward to it! Enjoy!!!
