What’s the fuss?

You all know Madison as this now:

However, a long time ago she was this little baby:

That little baby used to keep us up all day and all night. Crazy that she was that little! Since I wasn't blogging back when she was born, you all don't know what it was like with my gas ridden colicky baby. We weren't given that many options thirteen years ago.I love that my sister-in-laws, that are having babies now, (it is awesome being the auntie and giving them back to their parents lol!), have so many more options out there for them. The only thing that soothed Madison was playing the Evanescence song My Immortal and her baby swing (and it was an old crank swing so we constantly had to get up to wind the thing!!!!). We tried anything anybody ever told us.

What I would have given for aPhilips Avent Anti-colic bottle. Philips Avent wants to help moms understand what all the fuss is about and help them avoid it by selecting a bottle that fits their needs. They know there is nothing worse than a screaming baby that nothing works to help. To solve those feeding concerns, Philips Avent offers the Anti-colic bottle – clinically proven to reduce colic and discomfort. The Philips Avent Anti-colic bottle features a new look and name, with the same Classic+ features that moms have loved for years – to reinforce the fuss-fighting benefits they’ve always had.

What fuss fighting benefits am I talking about? First, there is the venting system. The airflex venting system is designed to reduce gas and colic by reducing air ingestion. I can't tell you how important that is. I especially love that there are fewer parts for easy cleaning and assembly. There are only 4 parts total: bottle, cap, nipple and ring which holds the nipple in place. That means less parts to have to find in the middle of the night in the dark (we've all been there!). The ribbed texture prevents nipple collapse for uninterrupted feeding. Babies fed with Philips Avent anti-colic bottles experienced 60% less fussing at night, than babies fed with a leading competitor’s vented bottle. (At 2 (aff) weeks of age, babies fed with a Philips Avent bottle showed a trend to less colic compared to a conventional bottle and a significant reduction in fussing at night compared to babies fed with another leading bottle.)

Philips Avent partnered with actress and new mom Sarah Chalke (I love her! She is so real and so not Hollywood!) this year to learn about her experience with colic with her first child and how she’s trusting Philips Avent to ensure the best feeding experience for her new daughter, Frankie. Here's her thoughts on the Philips Avent anti-colic bottle:

Philips Avent allows you to choose the #1 bottle brand from the start so you can avoid feeding woes. I would have given you my first born (which was Madison LOL) for this bottle back in the day.

Could you have used this bottle? Did your children or do your children suffer from colic?
