10 Great Reasons To Go See The Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie

Guardians of the Galaxy movie

Yes, it is that time; the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie finally opens tonight! I’ve been dying for you to see this awesome film, so we can discuss. The only reason I won’t be seeing this film tonight is, because my family and I are driving across the country for our family vacation. We’ve only got about 16 hours in the car together. However, after we get to our destination, we will see Guardians of the Galaxy. I already found a movie theater to watch it at!

That being said, Guardians Of The Galaxy is amazing.  If you have no idea what Guardians of The Galaxy is about, here is a quick synopsis:

From Marvel Studios (the creators of iconic blockbusters like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers) comes an all-new crew of unlikely heroes in Guardians of the Galaxy. This thrilling space adventure blasts the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the far reaches of the cosmos, following brash outlaw Peter Quill, who becomes the target of a relentless bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb. The orb, desired by the ruthless villain Ronan, holds a power that could destroy the universe. To escape, Quill forms an uneasy alliance with a misfit team: Rocket, a trigger-happy raccoon; Groot, a humanoid tree with a big heart; Gamora, a deadly assassin with a mysterious past; and Drax the Destroyer, driven by vengeance. But as the danger grows and the true power of the orb is revealed, Quill must unite his new-found allies for a final, all-or-nothing battle to save the galaxy.

Sounds awesome, right? Here’s my top 10 reasons why you have to go see Guardians of the Galaxy movie:

#1 Rocket

Yes, you totally forget that Rocket is CGI. I knew Bradley Cooper did his voice, but seriously, most of the time, it doesn’t sound like him at all. You totally bought into the fact that Rocket was real (or at least I did).

#2 It’s kid friendly.

My 7 and 10 year old will be seeing this film. There is just a minimum amount of swearing, Just a heads up though, StarLord does give the bird, and I didn’t think the violence was too bad.

#3 Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt makes an excellent StarLord.  He is in awesome shape and is some great eye candy.  Plus, he comes across just like he is in real life.  You totally buy him as StarLord.

#4 Spoiler Alert: The Collector

Pay very close attention to what is in his collection.

#5 The Guardians Of The Galaxy Soundtrack

The soundtrack is amazing. You may start singing along during the movie, because you will recognize all of the songs.

#6 It’s all heart.

It is an action movie.  However, there is a whole backstory that will tug on your heartstrings.  I may have gotten a little teary-eyed while watching.  (No, I won’t tell you what part till after you go see the movie!)

#7 You don’t have to be a superfan to understand what’s going on.

You don’t have to read the comics to follow what is going on (which is why all the Marvel movies are so great).

#8 The amazing actors

Michael Rooker and Nathan Fillion are in it!  Oh yeah, Stan Lee too.  Also don’t forget Josh Brolin, Dave Batitsta, Karen Gillan, Ophelia Lovibond, Peter Serafinowicz, John C Reilly, and Lee Pace.  I could go on and on with names.

#9 Groot

The relationship between Rocket and Groot is very heartfelt.  They are the best of friends.  Groot is also very important to the story.  Plus, in the credits, there is a scene with Groot that I totally love.

#10 I told you too 🙂

What are you waiting for? Go see the Guardians of the Galaxy movie now!

Will you be seeing Guardians of the Galaxy?  What can’t you wait to see?

  1. My kids absolutely cannot wait to see that movie! I’m going to share some of this with them without giving too much away!

  2. This is the third or fourth post I’ve read about this movie…I didn’t think I cared to see it, but after seeing all this hype, maybe I do now!

  3. This movie looks cool, I will definitely see it but the PG-13 rating and some of feedback I’ve heard, I won’t be taking my kids. It’s not just this movie, but TV and movies in general are really pushing the boundaries for family friendliness. But, I am pretty sure I will love it!

  4. I am totally going to go see it. I might just have a “me” day and go, or maybe take my son. I think he might be the only one who will get into it with me.
