Have you seen Cars 3 (aff) yet? If you did, the Pixar short before it started was Lou. It is, by far, one of my favorite shorts of all time. I found myself giggling like my kids do watching it!

When a toy-stealing bully ruins recess for a playground full of kids, only one thing stands in his way: the “Lost and Found” box. Here's a small clip for you to enjoy:

We got to interview Director Dave Mullins & Producer Dana Murray about Lou. From that interview, we learned so much, but here are some facts that I think you'll enjoy:

  1. Dave Mullins had been pitching shorts to Pixar since 2005. It took him 4 years to make Lou.
  2. His wife and him built an actual “Lou”.
  3. When Dave pitched this idea to John Lasseter, he said that it looked like a pain to do, so we have to do this!
  4. Lou is animated by hand. (All the animators are Dave's best friends now ROFL).
  5. When you see JJ in the movie, that's Dave's mom's initials (Joyce Jean).
  6. They used a kid from Inside Out to make JJ.
  7. They borrowed kids from Finding Dory for the playground scenes.
  8. The toys that are in the lost in found box are “timeless” toys.
  9. There are definite references to other films like ET in here.
  10. The “For Dad” at the end is for Dave's dad who passed away.
  11. Lou is the only thing that is red in the film, because red pops and is visually easy to track.
  12. He still owns his Henry doll.

I hope you enjoy Lou as much as I did! Go head out and see Cars 3 (aff) right now!
