Miles from Tomorrowland is an animated space adventure series that centers around the Callisto family who live on a spaceship called the Stellosphere and work for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (TTA). The four main characters are Miles Callisto (an enthusiastic and curious boy with a somewhat reckless inventive streak), Loretta Callisto (Miles’ older sister and technology and programming whiz), Phoebe Callisto (mom and the ship’s captain), and Leo Callisto (dad and ship’s engineer). We get to travel along on all their crazy adventures out in space.
Did you know that this week is “World Space Week”? To celebrate, Disney Junior is blasting off with two BRAND NEW episodes from Miles From Tomorrowland airing on Disney Channel this Saturday, October 10th! Here are few sneak previews for you:
I was able to meet with Sascha Paladino, the show’s creater, over at Google headquarters. Google helps with the show, so the setting was perfect.
Yes, Google Headquarters is pretty amazing.
Along with Sascha (who also created Wonder Pets!), we met with Dr. Cagle (NASA), Angela Navarro (google engineer), Diane Ikemiyashiro (Disney programmer), and Isis Wegner (engineer).
We talked about women, programming, and Miles from Tomorrowland. It was a great conversation, and all thought behind the show really makes it more interesting. They want girls and boys watching this show. I loved that it held my attention as an adult. You won’t mind watching this with your kids!
For the next seven weeks starting this Saturday October 10th, there will be new episodes of “Miles from Tomorrowland” paired with new episodes of “Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. The episodes will premiere on Saturday mornings beginning at 8:00AM on Disney Channel and are included in a catch-up marathon on October 31!
