Outback Steakhouse And Operation Homefront Host Tim McGraw!

Sometimes my blog offers me some pretty sweet opportunities. Today, was one of those days.

With Memorial Day right around the corner, Operation Homefront and Outback Steakhouse invited several veterans and their families to Outback today. I got to go along for this adventure. The veterans knew that they were getting lunch and were going to meet a celebrity (and that’s all I knew too). Our surprise celebrity was Tim McGraw!

For those who don’t know, Operation Homefront (OH) provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. In 2012, they met 151,150 needs for military families, including active duty, Guard and Reserve members from all branches of service. Since its inception, Operation Homefront has provided more than $128 million dollars of funding to programs to benefit military families. Moreover, it has served more than 4,200 wounded warriors and their families. It is a great cause and I am glad I can introduce it to all of you who haven’t heard of them before.

Outback fed us a great lunch. Tim McGraw was beyond nice. He greeted each table and shook our hand and had an actual conversation with us. At our table, he ate some of our Bloomin’ Onion! We also got a picture with him afterwards (I’m waiting to get a copy of that and will post it then!).

I’m glad I got to be part of this great event. It was beyond awesome! Thank you Operation Homefront, Tim McGraw, and Outback Steakhouse! Outback also wants to thank all our Military Mates! It’s a 10% discount for active or retired service members that goes until July 4!
