Calling all my Chicago readers! If you are like me, finding a parking space in the city of Chicago can be very difficult. I hate driving into the city without having my parking figured out ahead of time. There is nothing worse with getting to a parking garage and finding out it is going to cost $30 or even worse $60. I know that makes me want to not even come into the city for things! However, ParkWhiz has solved this problem for me. They created the cheapest way to park in Chicago, with rates of $15 up to 12 hours!

Navigating 130 parking rates around the city is complicated and a total pain in the butt. With ParkWhiz you can now grab a spot for a flat $5 an hour or just $15 gets you a spot all day!  Their site was beyond easy to navigate.  However, this is why I love it so:

Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 5.43.25 PMYou all know I’m not originally from Chicago.  That means I have zero sense of direction once I get into the city.  ParkWhiz’s app gives me directions right to your guaranteed spot.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten lost trying to get to parking garages I’ve found online beforehand!  This literally solves a problem that I have!  I also love that it tells me the walking distance to my final destination.  City blocks in Chicago can be pretty big.  Something that looks like small distance on a map isn’t always that way!  You can also show your parking conformation from the app right on your phone when you get to your parking spot.

Interested? Make sure you download their app for iPhone or Android or check out their website!  What is your biggest pet peeve with parking in the city?  How would this app make your life easier?

  1. This is really cool. I always have hard time finding parking in Chicago over weekends, always full. Thanks for sharing.

Parking in Boston stinks, too. We could definitely use a service like that here, too. It sounds like a huge help!

  3. Ohh, that’s pretty cool! We don’t have too many places I go in town that would require me to end up having to pay for parking. If I ever end up going to Chicago I will keep this thing in mind. 🙂

  4. That is an amazing app! This past weekend I tried Uber for the first time – that is fantastic! We used Uber 6 times over the weekend because it was so convenient and cheap! Sounds like this app is following that direction!

  5. Parking in NYC cost as much as a monthly rent payment! Park Whiz sounds super helpful. I love walking but when I visited Chicago, what you folks call two blocks, are what we call avenues here, avenues are super long, all the ‘blocks’ in Chicago felt more like NY avenues to me!

  6. Kudos to whoever thought of this great app! It is so frustrating trying to find a parking space and this is such a big help. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I don’t live in a big city but this is really such a great idea! The time I’ve visited parking is so hard to find and so expensive. This really simplifies it!

  8. Visiting Chicago is on our bucket list because the hubs so wanted to see Wrigley Field. I hope our plan of visiting the city will materialize soon. I am going to download this app once it happens.

  9. What an awesome app! i wish that I would have had that when I lived in a larger place. I’m lucky and know my small town like the back of my hand!

  10. This is a great app idea. I live in a big city and parking is a huge pain. I will have to see if this works for my area.

  11. Holy moly that is crazy how much the parking garage costs. I’m glad that our city makes the parking garages free after 5 pm and on weekends to encourage patrons to come downtown for the night life. At least the app, makes parking a bit reasonable. In fort Worth, they have parking meters around so you just have to feed the meter.

  12. Ahhh, this is very convenient. We could use a similar service here in my country. Parking is such a hassle as well on most days and that’s one of the reasons why I always bring my driver with me. You can get late for your appointments by just looking for parking.

  13. We don’t go to Chicago but I have heard it’s a very busy place. I can imagine how bad the traffic and parking is. Sounds like that is a great app to have.
